Mr. Saidu Conton Sesay, Chief of Staff at State House is leading Sierra Leone’s delegation to the Ninth Session of the Committee on Sustainable Development and the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development being held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Addis Ababa from 16th to 18th June, 2015.
The main objectives of the conference are:
• To review and provide guidance to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa sub-programme on innovation, technology and the management of Africa’s natural resources
• To oversee the implementation of a platform for the 2015 African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development and the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
The meeting is slated to discuss the green economy, climate change and renewable energy, the management of Africa’s natural resources and the blue economy.
The delegation comprises: The Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, Mr. Abdul Ignosi Koroma, Central Bank Governor, Mr. Momodu Kargbo, Director General, National Minerals Agency, Mr. Sahr Wonday, Deputy Director, Economic Policy and Research Unit in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Mohammed Warritay, Mr. Martin Jimmy, Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources and Mr. Dehunge Shiaka, Deputy Director of Social Welfare in the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs.
