Core values like tolerance, inclusiveness and respect for another are the cornerstone of the APC political party in Sierra Leone and everywhere else on the planet including Australia. The APC regard every Sierra Leonean as brothers and sisters, regardless of individual political affiliation, tribe or region. As a result, the APCers are always at the top of the political lion mount of Sierra Leone in running the affairs of the nation.
True and blue blooded APCer does not believe in political intimidation, violence and the threatening of the hard earned golden peace that our poor people are currently enjoying in the country. The APC believe in meeting the people to solicit their support and votes in their towns and villages in peace and they do not believe in using Kamajors as tools to gain political power at the expense of the valuable lives of the poor suffering masses in the country.
The fact is the APC always put the interest of the country and precious lives of their poor people above political party interest. And above all, APC is a highly disciplined political party with a breadth of expertise in conflict resolution to settle any internal disputes. To prove me right or wrong, just reflect on the recently completed National Delegate Convention flag bearer choice issue and how it was proficiently managed.
In view of that the APC Branch in Australia fundraising dinner and dance of 28th October 2017 was a great success. It was well attended by diverse members of the Sierra Leone community, including members from other political parties, especially the SLPP, KKY movement and ADP members. All of them embraced the ambience of true patriotism and political tolerance created by the APC Australia Branch during this historic event.
In his speech, the Chairman welcomed and thanked Sierra Leoneans for attending the occasion and reiterated the need to embrace ourselves as Sierra Leoneans for the good of our country. The Chairman of the Branch recounted the successes of the APC government in the last ten years. He reverberated the unprecedented improvement in key sectors of the country including infrastructure, electricity supply, healthcare for breastfeeding mothers and kids under five, agriculture and education. The value of the improvement in these sectors has tremendous impact on the lives of Sierra Leoneans, the Chairman added.
Touching on the outcome of the recent National Delegate Conference held in Makeni, the Chairman boastfully described the APC flag bearer as a towering figure with an impeccable professional record both at home and the international development space. Tell me which other flag bearer is more equipped for the tasks involved at state house than Dr Samura Kamara, the Chairman rhetorically asked. He is right and proper for the job. However, the Chairman admonished every comrade not to be complacent but to continue to work hard until Dr. Kamara is at the State House. The Chairman also reminded all present to continue to talk to their siblings, relatives and communities to vote for the APC in the 2018 elections. He further cautioned all Sierra Leoneans about the misleading information that is sometimes disseminated on social media by desperate politicians and the false hope raised by other politicians.
Certificates of service were also awarded to three executive members for their unwavering commitment and dedication to the Branch – Women’s Leader, Mammy Fatu Bangura, Organising Secretary, Comrade Abdul Rahman Bundu, and Head of Disciplinary Committee, Comrade Mohamed Fofana.
