REMEMBERING A MAN WHOSE FRIENDSHIP HAD NO BOUNDARIES.
Last year was a turbulent year, 2020 a pandemic. The world bade goodbye to many who passed away. May God grant them eternal rest.
The world was hushed there was news all around of a virus, no clue as to how it will be tamed. But in our minds we contemplated that the tragedies were for others not for us.
Then came the bolt from the blue, Alec Alieu Badara Mansaray succumbed, to be counted in the stats.
He left a vacant position of Husband, Father ,Son , Grandfather and his many friends. When you lose a friend you mourn for a while and recall the lasting memories. then it grows on you to believe it was the will of God.
Time will not heal his loss neither will it fade away, the memories of a much liked man is forever.
We mark his passing just a year today 3rd May – a beautiful spring day sunny slight breezy and serene.
It was a parting of sorrow deep in our hearts. We mourned for a while and that was overtaken by the joys we found in the tributes that flowed in.
Your friends consoled us with joyous, kind and soulful words.
He gave his all to all. He was a channel of peace when there was conflict. He came out in all weathers to support friends and strangers. He was just a simple soul. He was a political animal but not an ideologue. He had the tongue of persuasion to charm a Dodo to fly. He cuts his bongo -dapper dashing dresser.
In his true character he would not have had the choice of the manner of his death but as to the timing, that he could have negotiated. A Muslim dying during Ramadan, achieving one of Islam’s blessings, to die in the middle of Ramadan and gain a straight flight to ,,,,heavenKnowing Alex? he would have bargained for a first class seat if there was such a flight, Bongoman must say; I travelled first class, I had a reserved seat.
Comforted that Alex is now counted amongst the angels, our grief is healed. God has received his son. Earth lost a foremost soul heaven gained a rich reward.
We mark your life today by recalling how you would always be remembered.
Political not an partisan, talkative not pedantic, argumentative not vicious, a man who had deserving and undeserving friends, well don’t we all?. His passing reminds us of the immortality of man, ”until man attains immortality all life will remain an illusion” M M ildan.
We pray for your eternal soul to rest in perfect peace. God grants you his eternal rest.
RIP Alex
