SIERRA LEONE FACES A VERY BLEAK AND CHAOTIC FUTURE IF PRESIDENT BIO IS ALLOWED TO RIG THE 2023 ELECTIONS

The Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP ) have been in power for three years. I challenge President Bio and his sorry sycophants and bootlickers to show us any concrete development project they have completed since they assumed governance in our country. I challenge the to show us any eye-popping infrastructural project they have completed. Show us any brilliant SLPP development plan that imbues our nation with optimism and hope for the future.
Under President Ernest Koroma, we commissioned new projects almost every month. Yes, the APC of President Koroma made mistakes. African politics will not be African politics without mistakes, but at least there were development projects being commissioned. Beautiful highways and infrastructural projects were being built and commissioned. Water pipes in towns and cities and electricity plants were being commissioned on a regular basis. Sierra Leone was making very encouraging strides towards self- sufficiency in food production. President Koroma’s Agenda For Prosperity remains the best development model for our nation.
But since APC were removed from power in 2018, there has been no development in the country. Everything has gone backwards . This government has almost completed its first term and they have not commissioned any project that has brought pride and satisfaction to our people that the government is working for the people.
All we see in Sierra Leone today are Mende tribalism , Mende political and economic hegemony: human rights abuses of the most horrific kinds, ritual murders, cannibalism, harassment of the opposition, wasteful and profligate spending by the President, his flamboyant wife and officials, sacking of tenured officials that are exposing the SLPP’s corruption and misgovernance, false and unfulfilled promises, lies and toxic politics and unnecessary provocation of the opposition leaders and tenured government functionaries. President has divided our already unstable country along tribal lines. He has antagonized Northern tribes and the Creoles in the West. Everything this retarded President does is to promote and perpetrate Mende hegemony in the country, while delivering no development project of any kind.
Under the SLPP, there is no present to be proud of. Conversely, there is no future to be joyful about. Everything is dim . Everything is dark. Everywhere, it is despair, disappointment, discouragement and hopelessness. Prices of food have gone through the roof and Sierra Leoneans are now buying a bag of rice at half-a- million Leones when the minimum wage is not even Le 500, 000.
President Bio has performed so badly in power that our country has regressed to hundred years. He has spent millions of our hard earned dollars to burnish his international image and buy favors with international organizations like the Millennium Challenge Corporation ( MCC) but even where they gave him fake grades and deemed the country Compact eligible, they have not dared to put a single dollar in his hands. He has been developing compact for two years now. Because of damning annual audit reports and daily bombshells of financial scandals by the SLPP, one wonders if the MCC would be so stupid to put U.S taxpayers money in peril by giving Maada Bio the U.S $ 400 million which is the reward for Sierra Leone qualifying for the Compact.
Recent events however show that President Bio’s international image has not been helped by the millions of dollars he is busy spending on international public relations companies and organizations like Freedom House in the UK. The European Union is at loggerheads with President Bio for lack of transparency and accountability and his penchant to rig bye – elections and the shameful manner he has politicized the judiciary and governance institutions ,including Parliament.
More damaging, U.S President Joe Biden has refused to invite President Bio to his prestigious and highly – rated World Leaders Democracy Summit to be held this month. In the eyes of the U.S. President, Sierra Leone’s President Bio is not fit to share the same platform with him and world leaders promoting democracy throughout the globe because he is the most corrupt, most undemocratic and most dictatorial of African tyrants.
This is how bad President Bio and the SLPP have fared since they came to power in 2018 and now he is planning to rig the elections in 2023 to give himself an undeserved third term. He is so unpopular he knows that if the elections are free and fair, he will be voted out. As accused by the EU, President Bio has brought the Midterm Census to help him inflate the population in the Southeastern Mende territory so that he will cheat in the forthcoming elections.
We implore the international community not to abandon Sierra Leone in the hands of this merciless and false-promising tyrant, elections cheat, unprogressive and incompetent leader, under whose presidency Sierra Leone has a very bleak future indeed.
PRESIDENT BIO does not deserve another term . If allowed to bulldoze his way back to power, international intervention will become inevitable in the distant future to redeem the people of Sierra Leone from his clutches because things will so plummet from bad to worse that national peace and stability will not be assured.
