There will be no free and fair elections in Sierra Leone if the Elections Commission remains a tribal organization. The first step towards transparent and credible elections is a total dismantling of the ECSL and appointing a cross -ethnic Commission ( not having it controlled by one ethnic group).
If stakeholders and moral guarantors go into the forthcoming Tripartite committee investigations and come out of it with the ECSL still a tribal organization, nobody should take them and the APC seriously again because they will never win an election in Sierra Leone once the Southeast continues to control the Elections Commission. We need a brand new ECSL ,with all ethnic groups and regions equally represented in it.
The army and police have also been tribalized . I do not understand how the APC and Sierra Leoneans sat down watching and seeing a whole country’s elections commission, army, police and civil society become one- tribe institutions. It is shame to the APC. You held power for about 38 years in Sierra Leone and you sat down and one tribe hijacked every institution in Sierra Leone ? Where were you ? Shame .
There is going to be no rerun of the elections. Only the Supreme Court can do it so let no moron or deceiver fool you. But for 2028, APC can lead the way in revolutionizing and detribalizing the Elections Commission, army , police and civil society through this 3- way Commission about to be set up.
If APC cannot do that, do not take the party seriously again because SLPP will forever be declared winners by the Mende Elections Commission. That is the whole conclusion of the matter.
