A Quick Note on the Harassment of Lara Taylor-Pearce!!

n early 2018, the Bio administration stated categorically that the Audit Service was exempt from the executive order on revenue mobilization passed by Maada Bio in April 2018. They said the Audit Service, as a supreme auditing agency, was not required to have its finances tied to the single treasury account.
Now almost three years later, the same group of people are now harassing the Audit Service for supposedly failing to deposit its external audit funds into the Single Treasury Account established in April 2018.
They are now using pro-government tabloids like Global Times owned and operated by Sorie Fofana, a board chairman of the infamous SALCAB, to pester the Auditor General into resigning her position.
Meanwhile, the individuals now calling for her resignation and demanding payment of supposed outstanding external audit fees dating back to 2018, were the same people who had informed the Auditor General that the Audit Service was exempt from the dictates of the executive order on revenue mobilization that implemented a single treasury account.
The question is what is now responsible for this seeming inconsistent position of official of the Bio administration?The answer is simple. They have been unable to control the Audit Service.
The Auditor General has refused to compromise her independence. Worse, they do not want Lara Taylor-Pearce to preside over the 2020 annual audit exercise and the remaining special audit into the use of coronavirus funds.
