APC MUST DO THE RIGHT THINGS TO BE ABLE TO BEAT SLPP AND RETURN TO POWER IN 2028

A lesson many political parties do not learn is that policy and politics are Siamese twins. They are not mutually exclusive . Both must go together to enable a political party to lay its hands on the levers of power. Policy is the propeller, while politics is the engine.

Any political party that does not know that politics rides on the back of the formulation and implementation of policy and agenda will spend its years in opposition and the doldrums.

Any political party that spends all its time politicking and providing nothing concrete by way of its future and abiding policies and agendas to lure the electorate will only be a noisy cymbal , a loud but unproductive cymbal indeed and will remain in opposition ad infinitum.

The electorate in Africa is evolving. It is no longer docile, stoic and gullible. It looks at the policies and the agenda of a political party that wants to come to power and rule them. Yes, there are Maada Bios all over the world who rig elections and render invalid the aspirations of many productive political parties. But that does not change the fact that nothing defines a winsome political party than its policies and agendas.

Despite the presence of Maada Bios who steal elections and hijack democracy, any serious political party must know that its chances of victory during elections hinge on principles of clearly fashioning and laying out policies of deliverables that fascinate and motivate the voting public to cast their ballots for it.

The public must be convinced that a political party aspiring for power will change the people’s lives for them to treat that party with any seriousness.

This is the lesson the All People’s Congress (APC ) of Sierra Leone must inculcate to even circumvent the nebulous elections shenanigans of Maada Bio.
