Fact-Finding Mission: APC Must be Blunt to Tell the International Visitors Bio Stole the Elections
By Abu Shaw
The main opposition APC must ditch the diplomatic lexicon and go for Bio’s throat by telling international visitors the SLPP stole the June 24 elections.
The days of diplomatic language are long gone. Now is the time for the APC party to tell it as it is. Even the international observers believe Maada Bio did not rig the June 24 elections, but he stole it in broad daylight. Everyone is aware of the blatant stealing of the June elections by the Bio presidency in connivance with the corrupt Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone ECSL Mohamed Kenewui Konneh. Dr Samura Kamara of the APC party won the elections hands down. No contest about that but Maada Bio and his thieves overturned the people’s mandate. (Photo: Maada has violated the Elections Peace Pledge he signed with Dr Samura, left).
The incumbent Julius Maada Bio does not deserve the presidency. The APC party must be firm to protect the people’s constitutional rights. Sierra Leoneans would not allow the constitutional coup committed by Bio to succeed. Never. APC won the June 24 Elections, period. The International fact-finding missionaries must be reminded of this salient fact every step of the way while they are in Sierra Leone. The APC must hammer this fact in every sentence they speak. After all, the global partners know this fact. “The people are angry and impatient,” the APC must remind the visitors.
Reports say the three-day visit will give the delegations from the Commonwealth, African Union, and ECOWAS the opportunity to get first-hand information on the ground. Remember the visitors are not here to negotiate or dialogue with the APC or the SLPP as the SLPP vuvuzelas are claiming. They are in Sierra Leone to gather more information regarding the June 24 elections widely dubbed unfair and not transparent. All the international and national elections observers had condemned the ECSL boss Mohamed Konneh for calling a dubious result that saw Bio retaining power. (Photos: Commonwealth Secretariat boss Patricia Scotland meets Bio. And ECSL boss during the elections).
And despite calls for the ECSL to release the election results District by District, Mohamed Konneh has refused to do so simply because they are hiding something and don’t want to be caught. Consequently, the APC party has boycotted all SLPP governance structures and this has hampered the smooth running of the Bio presidency. Coupled with international sanctions ranging from financial to travel bans and freezing of private bank accounts and assets, it is succinct that the illegal Bio regime is at a stalemate.
That is why Maada Bio is begging the APC to join his regime. But the people of Sierra Leone want the APC party to stand firm on its position. First, the ECSL was urged to release the June 24 election results and, secondly to have a re-run of the election if necessary. Sierra Leoneans are therefore warning the APC to ditch any diplomatic language and be blunt and frank with the visitors. Meanwhile, the people are concerned about the role of ECOWAS in Sierra Leone. Citizens are not convinced ECOWAS is sincere in restoring democracy in Sierra Leone. The APC party must be wary of ECOWAS. More details are as follows –

Council of APC Media Bloggers Home/Diaspora Political Del Common Wealth ECOWAS and AU on a Fact Finding Mission in Sierra Leone
The illegitimate government of Sierra Leone and the opposition are hosting the Common Wealth, ECOWAS, and AU delegations, who are on a three-day fact-finding mission in Sierra Leone. The three-day visit will commence today the 7th of September to the 9th of September, 2023. The purpose of this important visit is for these International Bodies to gather unbiased, credible, and authentic information that will help them to broker a peaceful solution to the already tense and volatile political situation in the country.
The Common Wealth and its International Partners will have the opportunity to meet with both the SLPP government which has imposed itself on the people, and the opposition APC party separately, to hear from the government and the determined opposition APC party. Speaking to reporters from the Council Of APC Media Bloggers, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC party Hon Sidi Yayah Tunis informed reporters that the party has put forward some demands, which include the resignations of the Chief Justice, the IGP, EC-SL Commissioner, display of the disaggregated results, nonparticipation in governance, and a re-run of the June 24th general election.
According to Mr Sidi Yayah Tunis, the APC party is doing this, not because they have any selfish motive, but because they are fighting for our Democracy, the people of Sierra Leone, and to prevent any leader in the future from doing the same thing. Sierra Leoneans are looking forward to a fruitful outcome of this fact-finding. The question most people are asking now is: after this visit, what next?? It’s understood that the delegation will return to present their reports to these bodies, They will come back in October to meditate between the imposed government and the well-determined opposition APC party, which has stood firmly to fight for DEMOCRACY and the people of Sierra Leone.
