The All People’s Congress ( APC ) has vehemently denied any involvement in the attack on the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP ) Presidential candidate , Maada Bio as being spread by unscrupulous elements in the internet. Speaking exclusively to COCORIOKO  shortly after chaos broke out in Bo today following the attack on Bio, the APC said that all allegations that Bio was attacked from the APC  Party Headquarters compound are untrue and misleading . President Ernest Bai Koroma, who is disturbed by these developments, will be making a nation-wide broadcast shortly.

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Sierra Leone, Mr.Frank Kargbo and officials of State House who also spoke with COCORIOKO  denied any involvement by the APC. “This was an attempt by certain people to attack Bio and then smear the APC,”  officials told this newspaper . “President Koroma had strongly warned all supporters and APC officials to do whatever it takes to avoid violence, especially as he remains very popular with the people of Sierra Leone and he is well poised to win next year’s presidential Elections. There is therefore no rhyme or reason for APC  supporters to attack Mr.Bio in the SLPP  stronghold,  ” the officials went on .

The APC officials are calling on all Sierra Leoneans to eshew all  vicious propaganda by ill-disposed persons determined to undermine the APC Government and sow seeds of turmoil in the country. They want COCORIOKO  to assure all concerned that every effort is being made by government to bring the situation under control.

The Attorney General said as he was speaking to COCORIOKO , the APC Headquarters in Bo and the home of the party Chairman, Mr.Sheikh Sillah , have been burnt down by SLPP thugs.

We will  bring you the nation-wide address shortly by President Koroma.
