Big candlelight Vigil and Fundraiser for Tanker explosion disaster victims in New Jersey today

BIG VIGIL AND FUND- RAISER IN NEW JERSEY TODAY FOR SIERRA LEONE TANKER EXPLOSION VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS

NEW JERSEY, a state that has always taken the proactive lead in matters affecting our beloved nation, will be in action again this Sunday , with a big Candlelight Prayer Vigil and Fundraiser for victims and survivors of the recent tanker explosion disaster in Freetown.

The program is being staged by the sole umbrella Sierra Leone organization in the state —-The Sierra Leone Community of New Jersey ( SLC NJ). The vigil and fundraiser are scheduled for Sunday November 21 at 3: 30 pm at the Gazebo, on the premises of the Franklin Township Municipal grounds at 475 De Mott Lane , Somerset.

Clergy and congregation members of churches and mosques have been officially invited through letters sent out by the Chairman of SLC NJ , Mr. Lamin Alharazim ,his able Secretary General , Mr. Abdul Hardy Gabisi and the Chair of the West African Community, Mr. Dauda Jawara Mansaray.

Christian and Muslim clergy will officiate at the ceremony.

Mr. Gabisi also informed COCORIOKO that he has also despatched letters to Assemblyman, Mr. Joe Danielson, the Surrogate of Somerset, NJ, Mrs Bernice Tina Jalloh and other dignitaries within the township, the county and the State of New Jersey. Mayor Kramer of Franklin Township is also involved in the Program.

Sierra Leoneans from a broad spectrum of life and organizations and members of the public are invited to come sympathize with the nation for the massive loss of precious citizens and also help raise funds for survivors. A total of 144 people have been confirmed dead by the Sierra Leone Government and over one hundred more injured as a result of the tanker explosion.
