It is an undisputed fact that Western ambassadors do get compromised in Africa . They pursue their own agendas and their countries’ self -interest more than the dire needs of the host countries.Anything they do must be in furtherance of their neocolonialist designs or they will not promote it.
U.S. AMBASSADOR BRYAN HUNT COMPROMISES DEMOCRACY IN SIERRA LEONE
We saw it in the Congo during the Katanga crisis in 1960. They killed President Patrice Lumumba , a very determined and committed leader, because of his communist leanings.
We saw it in Liberia from the 1970s to the 1980s . America backed off burning issues affecting the people but helped overthrow their governments only when the presidents undermined their interests.
According to Mrs.Victoria Tolbert, wife of the slain President in her book and the fiery Chief Justice, Cheah Cheapoo, in his testimony before the Kiberian TRC, white men were at the Executive Mansion the night President Tolbert was assassinated. White people helped Doe to murder President Tolbert and overthrow his government because Tolbert had started turning East.
Listen to the TRC testimony by late Liberian Miister of Information, J. Emmanuel Bowier . He was a very frank man. U.S initially supported Doe heavily because he stood against socialism . Despite his wickedness and bloodshed, America aided him more than they had ever helped an African government but they later fell out with him only because he turned East for help. They wanted him out but did not have an alternative in the country. U.S therefore freed Charles Taylor from an American jail and unleashed him at Doe.
Remember U.S Ambassador June Carter Perry and the leaked diplomatic cables in 2008—the event that led to our comrade Aziz Nabe being arrested briefly by the Secret Service ? She actually did not like APC and secretly supported the SLPP.
Remember U.N Ambassador Schulenberg ? We discovered his covert practices and President Koroma suggested for him to be recalled because he could have destroyed our country. Whoever denies that Western ambassadors do not get compromised is just arguing for arguments sake.
The U.S and the West have that wrong perception that APC political ideology is built around Socialism and that we have enduring ties with China and the East. That was one of the reasons for the regime change in Sierra Leone in 2018.
They do not like Maada Bio himself but do not want Maada Bio to turn to China or the East or join BRICS so they are supporting him covertly and Ambassador Lisa Chesney of Britain went silent while U.S Ambassador Bryan Hunt changed his commitment to bring electoral justice and helped Maada Bio and APC rebels to destroy the dreams and aspirations of the people .
That is America for you. They only fight the people’s battle when their government threatens their vital interests. Maada Bio is careful in all his extrajudicial killings, human rights abuses and criminal governance not to threaten U.S interests and because of that, Bio is safe. America criticize him peripherally but though they knew he stole the elections, they used the Tripartite Committee for other purposes rather than deal with Bio’s rigging and bringing electoral justice to the people of Sierra Leone.
What America has done in Sierra Leone must not surprise anybody because they have done it in countless third world countries.
TO PROVE MY POINTS, I AM GOING TO SHOW YOU BOOKS I AM READING, WRITTEN BY AMERICANS THEMSELVES , AND DECLASSIFIED U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT DOCUMENTS TO DEMONSTRATE HOW THE WEST HAS BEEN BETRAYING DEMOCRACY BECAUSE THEIR VITAL INTERESTS WERE NOT TOUCHED —AND WHERE THEY CONNIVED TO OVERTHROW PRESIDENTS WHO STEPPED ON THEIR TOES.
