Fear not, O Land ; Be glad and rejoice , for God is about to do great things -Joel 2:21
COCORIOKO : Volume 1, No.6 . September 27–October 4, 2002
God is about to move in Sierra Leone. God is about to
restore our meat, corn, wine and barley. God is about to
refresh us .God is about to bring redemption
throughout the land. But we must acknowledge his
indispensability, his majesty and power in the life of
our nation. We must let him be the captain of the ship
and the pilot of the plane of state, for WITHOUT HIM,
WE CAN DO NOTHING.
Past leaders have failed us ..
The NPRC junta has failed us…
The RUF …OH, we never expected anything from them
The intellectuals have failed us…
Everybody has failed us….
We have failed ourselves….
Our only answer today is God. Only God will put that
new and patriotic spirit within us to make us love our
nation and seek her interest. Only God can provide
wisdom and knowledge about what direction we need to
Only God….only God…..
Let us therefore pray and fast before him everyday,
but let us have a NATIONAL DAY OF REPENTANCE AND
PRAYER that we may cry before GOD AND SEEK HIS FACE
FOR OUR NATION.
May God bless our hearts.
REV. LEEROY WILFRED KABS-KANU
This short message was preached by the Rev. Leeroy Wilfred Kabs-Kanu just as the war was coming to an end in Sierra Leone in 2002 . It is culled from the COCORIOKO Newspaper archives .It was a prophetic message. Today, we can look back and say thanks to God , because between 2002 and 2011 , God has done great things in the nation. We have had two multi-party elections. Peace has returned completely and we are impressively engaged in rebuilding our country. Sierra Leone has moved from the bottom of the Human Development index and we have scored fascinating statistics in indexes on governance, respect for human rights, democracy, socio-economic development and improvement in the health care sector.
Sierra Leoneans, let us continue to have faith in God as he guides our nation. There are better days ahead. There is no reason for despair.
Some politicians in their uncontrollable greed for power, have sowed fear in Sierra Leone by attempting to bring back what God has redeemed us from, but I want to tell all Sierra Leoneans today not to fear anything because JEHOVAH, The Almighty God , has his hand on our nation and will thwart the plans of these unpatriotic politicians.
TODAY, I BRING you the FEAR NOT PASSAGES in God’s Word. I call on all Sierra Leoneans to meditate on them and continue to pray for our nation. The enemies of progress in Sierra Leone will never succeed.
