Kandeh Yumkella ‘s wife, Philomena, passes away
Dear colleague NGCians, the news of the passing away of our Sister, Philomena Yumkella is now sinking in.
The family has now given us clearance to announce it as a party in the social media.
Our Sister, Philo, fought a good fight supported by her good husband and family but there is nothing we can do against the will of the Almighty God. As a party, we mourn the loss of a great member, who was the real soul behind the soul of our party. And anybody who knows the NGC well will attest to Philo’s direct contribution to the party, in addition to the phenomenal support she provided for Kandeh.
It is indeed painful for our party that Philo is so brutally removed from our midst in the middle of a journey that she and her dear husband KKY had embarked on. We will continue to pray for her soul to find eternal rest and peace. We should also pray for Kandeh who has just lost over 40 years of his heart to the cold hands of death. He needs us at this time.
The NGC Secretariat will continue to work closely with the family towards giving a fitting departure to our Sister and we will be guided only by information that are received from the family. Let me use this opportunity to thank all of you who joined in prayer teams during Mrs. Yumkella’s illness, demonstrating that our party can stay together when we pray together.
May God grant Mrs. Philomena Yumkella peace forevermore.
From Dr. Dennis Bright, Chairman and Leader, NGC
