His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has arrived with a high powered delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On arrival at the Royal Terminal of the King Abdul Aziz International Airport Jeddah, the President was received by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador in the Kingdom, Ambassador Alhaji M.S Kargbo, His Royal Highness Prince Abdallah bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, the Minister of Culture and Information, Mr. Awwad Al Award, His Excellency Saudi Arabia’s non resident Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Mr. Sulaiman bin Salleh Al Freih among other senior Saudi Government officials.
The President and is in the Kingdom on the kind invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The President is expected to hold bilateral discussions with the Saudi Monarch on a wide range of issues, including, but not limited to, the further strengthening of Sierra Leone’s diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
His Excellency the President will also hold marginal meetings in the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB Group) His Excellency Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed bin Hamza Asaad Al Hajjar, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, and the Director-General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), His Excellency Dr. Sidi Ould Tah.
His Excellency the President is accompanied by the Foreign and International Cooperation Minister, Dr. Samura W. Kamara, Finance and Economic Development Minister, Mr. Momodu Kargbo, Mines and Mineral Resources Minister, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, Information and Communications Minister, Mr. Mohamed Bangura, Education, Science and Technology Minister, Dr. Minkailu Bah, State Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Rassie Kargbo (Mrs.) Personal Assistant to the President, Mr. Brian Gilpin, among others.
The President is also scheduled to meet with the Turkish President, H.E Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara after the completion of his Saudi visit on Tuesday, 9th May, 2017.
