President Ernest Koroma in Morocco to attend Climate Change Conference

PRESIDENT KOROMA LEAVES FOR THE KINGDOM OF MOROCCO
The general public is hereby informed that His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has left Freetown today for Bab Ighli, Marrakech, the Kingdom of Morocco to attend the 22nd Session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 22), and the 12th Session of the Conference of the Parties, serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 12).president-koroma-5

 

The Conference will address, among other issues, the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage associated with the climate under the United Nations Framework and will bring together representatives of the world’s governments, international organizations and civil society to discuss ways of advancing the implementation of the Paris Agreement that will later replace the Kyoto Protocol which was be finalized in Paris, France in December, 2015.

 

President Koroma will also hold high-level talks with His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco and bi-lateral meetings with senior Moroccan Government officials. His Excellency the President and his entourage will return to Freetown Thursday, November 17, 2016. –
