President Ernest Bai Koroma has warned members of the Fourth Estate to practice their trade bearing in mind that the security of the country is paramount. “We do not want people to preach tribalism, hatredness and division in the country pretending to be criticizing government on the handling of Ebola,” he said.
“I do accept constructive criticism but will not allow anyone to divide this country under my leadership. Let’s focus on Ebola…we do not want distractions,” President Koroma emphasized amid nods of approval from the audience.
The president made this statement whilst on a working visit to the northern district of Kambia to engage paramount chiefs and religious leaders to redouble efforts in the fight against the spreading Ebola virus.
