A pre-Hajj delegation headed by the Special Assistant to His Excellency the President on Social Affairs has arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to make arrangements for this year’s would-be pilgrims from Sierra Leone.
On arrival at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah last night, Alhaji Sheka Sahid Kamara (alias Shekito) said that: “In collaboration with our Mission here in Saudi headed by Ambassador Alhaji M.S. Kargbo, we are here to make the necessary coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah as well as the service providers for our nationals intending to perform this year’s Hajj”.
The Presidential aide added that: “We will make arrangements for transportation, food and accommodation.” He also said that, they will also be inspecting hostels in both Makkah and Madinah on the criteria of proximity to the Two Holy Mosques as well as conducive environment for their would-be pilgrims.
The team, Alhaji Sheka furthered, is also going to give feedback to the Hajj and Umrah officials on the experiences of Sierra Leonean pilgrims last year and to receive information on preparations and new policies for this year’s pilgrimage.
Alhaji Sheka Kamara is accompanied by the Hajj Mission’s IT Specialist, Alhassan Bangura.
