Hassanatu Abass Bassie “(nee Kamara)”, 37, was on her way back to the USA after visiting relatives in her native Sierra Leone when she suffered a medical emergency that forced the Brussels Airlines aircraft she was traveling in to be diverted to Madrid, Spain. She passed away on March 13, in the Intensive Care Unit of the Ramon Y Cajal Hospital in Madrid. A native of Port Loko, Ms. Bassie lived in Reston, VA.
