Some Guineans in Liberia face arrests, imprisonment or deportation

🚨Guinean nationals in Liberia, particularly in Boni Town, are facing a 10-day ultimatum from Liberian authorities to regularize their stay or face arrest, imprisonment, or repatriation.

According to reports, Mamadou Saliou Diallo, a Guinean citizen, revealed the hardships faced by Guineans in Liberia. Diallo, along with six others, was arrested and imprisoned on June 6, 2024, for allegedly lacking necessary documents.

Diallo explained that Liberian immigration police conduct daily arrests, often disregarding valid ECOWAS documents. He and his friends paid over $700 for their release.

Diallo has called on Guinean authorities to intervene and address the harassment and mistreatment of Guineans in Liberia, stressing the urgent need for action to prevent deportation.
