The Godfather Under Attack

For quite a considerable period of time now the music industry in Sierra Leone has been replete with rivalry among various opposing artists although attempts have been made by well-meaning individuals and institutions to bring sanity within that sector making the situation somehow less tense as it used to be.
The case of LAJ and Kao Denero is a clear case in point, in the past, resulting into bloody feuds among their various fans. It is commonly known as ‘beefing’.
Renowned Sierra Leonean musical artist and producer, Jimmy Bangura popularly known as Jimmy B, is the latest victim of serious social media bashing allegedly bordering on blackmail by one entertainer, Morris Kamara, aka Morris D WonderBoy, accusing him of attempted rape further stating that Jimmy is a pervert and serial rapist.
The trump up allegation by Morris against Jimmy B is centred on an attempted sexual harassment of a young Sierra Leonean lady said to be residing in Canada, whom it was said, on her visit to Sierra Leone was staying at Jimmy’s Paradise Hotel/Guest House, situated on Lumley Beach Road, Aberdeen.
Morris furthered that he is a friend to the lady in question, who sought advice from him on where to stay when she travels to Freetown to stay for a period of one month, at a time when he (Morris) was in Dubai.
He continued that he recommended different places but the lady finally decided to put up at the Jimmy’s hotel on the basis that it will be good to patronize with her Sierra Leonean brother for an agreed fee of $ 1,200 (Le 12,000,000).
According to Morris, on the lady’s first night in her apartment, she started getting strange and unusual attentions from Jimmy B.
“She was confused and wondering why a hotel owner would like to be checking her incessantly, most times unannounced. He would come to her apartment during odd hours under the guise of checking on her. Jimmy would sometimes ask the lady to open her door even after she gave excuses of taking showers will always insist to go in.
“It was at that moment she started complaining to me that she needs to relocate to another hotel. This continued for countless times. On the 24th December 2020, I was at the nightclub with my fiancé, when she suddenly joined us by. We were partying together when she (my friend from Canada) started receiving phone calls from Jimmy B. She ignored all the calls and continued with the party. She later left us and went back to her apartment,” Morris narrated adding that the lady was stunned to have found Jimmy B inside her apartment.
“Jimmy immediately rushed at her and limped onto her in an attempt to rape her. He tried to rip off her clothes. She fought back so hard that Jimmy B gave up on her,” he stated saying after realizing what he has done Jimmy started pleading with the lady for her to conceal what he did to her begging so bitterly, saying that his reputation will be at stake if she report her.
He said Jimmy went back to his apartment and brought all the money (12 Million Leones) the lady had paid, and returned it back to her after staying for 4 nights in the hotel.
Morris said he even offered and persuaded to lodge her in the apartment for free, for as long as she wants to stay. “Jimmy crawled and begged for forgiveness,” he also stated.
As a responsible and an objective media outlet we became so much interested into such a sensitive allegation and therefore decided to get to the bottom of it by undertaking a sustained investigation.
From what we gathered so far it became very glaring that the allegation is not only baseless but a clever and calculated ploy to tarnish the good reputation of a hardworking Sierra Leonean who has toiled over the years to take the music industry of this country to the highest and appreciable pedestal.
As a matter of fact it is widely known that Jimmy B has etched his name in the sands of time as the Godfather of Salone Music as he was the personality, who, when talented young Sierra Leoneans were groping in the dark, yearning for opportunities to showcase their musical talents, provided them the leeway.
After a successful music career in South Africa, Jimmy B decided to return home to continue what he is very good at, singing and producing music. Under the music label, Paradise Records, Jimmy B promoted various young musical artists including the popular K-Man until finally they decided to go their individual ways.
He was indeed very instrumental in taking Sierra Leonean music to another level and in setting the stage for the budding young artists to thrive. His, has been a successful music career.
Based on various interviews that this medium conducted with different musicians, the top ones and the upcoming as well as other relevant stakeholders within the music industry, it was disclosed that this is not the first time that Jimmy B had been unjustly and falsely accused of wrong doing but his accusers have failed to institute legal actions against him.
Many of them attested that the music industry in this part of the universe is replete with fierce rivalry, back stabbing and hatred to such an extent that some will use all sorts of unethical and uncanny tactics to bring others down. “Everybody wants to be at the top and therefore will stop at nothing to bring the other(s) down,” one of them intimated stating that Jimmy B is currently the latest victim of this dastardly and cowardly act which is masterminded by Morris.
One plausible argument expressed by a senior female musical artist indeed sounded very logical. She maintained that if, according to Morris, Jimmy B has been in the habit of sexually harassing female artists then it could only be right to make a formal complaint against him at any Police Station and legally pursue the matter but as of now it is all sound and fury signifying nothing.
She also added that in this case, Morris has not yet produced any convincing and overwhelming evidence against Jimmy B which smacks of hatred and malice.
Most of them talked very good about Jimmy B saying he such a nice personality who believes in doing the right things in order to improve the lives of others instead of ruining them.
“He is such a good person who is always striving very hard to ensure that things are done properly and as far as I know a person of such a calibre is always targeted and falsely accused which is indeed not good for the overall development of the nation,” a Social Commentator lamented.
When finally this medium caught up with Jimmy B to sound his reaction on the matter he said it is a serious allegation which a hundred percent hoax. He strongly asserted that he has planned to sue Morris in court for deliberately trying to tarnish his reputation.
“My brother, no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper as I strongly believe in the protection of the Almighty God,” he said confidently adding that although it is emotional stressful for his name to be wrongly peddled by Morris on the Social Media yet he remains unperturbed and will continue to do the right things.

Several Women have come forward, Listen and find a way to help and speak for the Victims. You really think Jimmy b will rape someone if he sees them recording a video. How stupid can you be to think that pictures and videos are the only evidence? Are you kidding me?

Why are some people so cruel, selfish and stupid a papa God? Why Salone? Where is your Conscience?
When Jimmy B release his statement, tell him all these Women will not lie on him, nobody want his money, he is not rich. He is an old useless pervert that uses his small alaky fame to sexually abuse women.
He must face justice!

As for Steady Bongo, he wasn’t even hiding, he should have been behind bars a long time ago if Women were respected in our Country Sierra Leone.
I’m pretty sure more victims would come forward if they were protected by the government. This is a serious matter. Oh how I wish our government will set this example. Oh how I wish Women for once will be supported in our own motherland. Oh how I wish!

JIMMY B COULD LAND HIMSELF INTO SOME SERIOUS TROUBLE OVER THESE RAPE ALLEGATIONS.

If all these women; The ones in Freetown, the other lady in Canada and the rest of the other girls in the diaspora unanimously come together and present this rape allegations charges against Jimmy B (pictured) in any court of law, “The God-Father of Sierra Leone entertainment” will be in one hell of a huge trouble. Trust.
These are all recent allegations by lots of women from different backgrounds.
Today alone, I listened to couple of medias including Zainab Sheriff’s voice note, the lady in Canada, another girl in Belgium and several other girls from Freetown narrating how Jimmy B had lured them in a sexual trap, some like Zainab Sheriff escaped the trap, other poor innocent girls swallowed the bait.
Jimmy B. SMH.
I personally see no reason of hate why Morris Kamara will come up with such allegations against Jimmy B whose been dubbed who has help shaped the entertainment industry of that country while Morris Kamara himself is an artist/musician.
With all this line-up of women ready to spit fire about their sexual ordeals with JImmy B., I see no reason why Morris Kamara should fabricate this. Nada.
In one of Morris Kamara’s post I just read earlier today, he clearly lamented that Jimmy has been going after these young innocent girls because he’s famous, still in the game and has some inner circle friends in power, and he can get away with this after molesting these women.
My take here is for all these women to come forward and put a strong case against Jimmy, it’ll be up to the law of Sierra Leone TO prove Jimmy wrong or right.
The Sierra Leone entertainment industry has a chronic attitude of the guys at the top always molesting these young aspiring talents with the false motive of helping them get into the business and fly high. Few tried to even got into the industry by majority of these girls ended up been sexually molested and left with no taxi fare to get home. I know of couple of incidents that have happened in the past.

Owing to series of revelation emanating from social media in respect of women being sexually harassed by men is worrisome and scary.
Whether those allegations are factual or not, the fact remains Perversion and reckless sexual advances is devilish and satanic.
It is no secret that women are facing these challenges either because they want to tap their relent or intend pushing their career. But o ya, the challenges are heavy.
The issue between Jimmy B and Morris is a test case for the HANDS OFF OUR GIRLS campaign and our justice system. On the reverse, a popular politician who was voiceforous against this regime is behind bars for allegedly misuse a minor.
As i write, people are yelling and murmuring why Jimmy B is an exception.
If this country is a civilized one, Jimmy B should answer questions from the police and Morris should be brought for interrogation. Though it is not yet clear if the complainant has attempt to reach the police, a proactive police must dig into this and unleash the fact. Those culpable should be brought to book.
We have received series of revelation by young women accusing men with status of making series of advances.
This is a serious issue and we urge the police to poke their nose into these allegations for proper clarity.
If the accused is innocent, let’s prove it beyond reasonable doubt. he is innocent, let’s save his reputation and move on.
Over the years, series of complaint emanate from women folks viz rape, under age marriage, perversion, sex for grades, sexual harassment etc. this is because our sisters are vulnerable and cannot provide for themselves. Selfish and wicked men used what they have just to make their way on these innocent and poor ladies. This is outrageous.
The Sierra Leone Police, journalists, Civil Society Groups, especially the women organization, we want to know the nitigrity of this matter. This has to stop. Let’s respect the women folks, trust me, they are part of our moral guarantors, they are our hope, comfort and love….

My perplexed thought.Firstly, let me start by thanking Morris for breaking up the silence of keeping mute on sexual related cases in the Sierra Leone musical industry, you deserves an overwhelming applaud from all, but especially someone like me.
Honestly, I got no proper clue as to who is right or wrong on the said sexual harassment allegation levied against the God Father of Sierra Leone music. I however launched a vox pop on the issue and below are few comments from people.Emmanuel hudson: well…

We barred from getting the evidence/proofs of claims. Someone need to speak up. The Young female artist are beating around, Heyden Adams wrote, “I have gone through the same experience”, but with who she can’t tell. I tried contacting her for a response to no avail.
Our musical industry is a good place for harlots since that is what they keep crawling on now. Honestly, I have respect for very few of them, like the Emmerson, drizlick and few others.
You may agres with me that such an act has the tendency to retrograde our entertainment sector and hard earned reputation. For sure, it cannot push us anywhere as a nation. Jimmy needs to be brought for questioning on the allegations levied against him irrespective of his class or political affiliation. We want to know the truth. Female artists must speak up!!!
