SLPP Displays Boko Haram Tactics In Bye-Elections

st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) }The opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has lent credence to suspicions that they are bent on causing confusion in the forthcoming elections and that a recent secret trip of their flag-bearer to Nigeria could have included at least a meeting with leaders of the destructive Boko Haram group for “expertise sharing”.ibrahim lewally: Victim of SLPP  stabbingToday Saturday’s bye-elections at Fourah Bay in Freetown, the party’s supporters went berserk and stabbed a couple of the ruling All Peoples Congress( APC) party supporters including, the newly-cross-carpeted Lansana Fadika, who was the SLPP’s Western Area Chairman.In a Boko Haram style way-laying tactic, the attackers were alleged to have been led by one Aziz Carew of the Fourah Bay Road area, while another SLPP supporter Fatmata Sawanneh was raining insults on the police, saying that they are ready to cause mayhem in the November elections, as this was merely the tip of the iceberg. The SLPP supporters are said to be very angry that their party’s support is dwindling, especially as Fadika went to the APC along with many other former strong supporters of their party.

Fadika was reportedly stabbed in the leg and was hospitalized immediately. The Inspector Genral of Police Francis Munu arrived at the scene later and deployed police. Up to press time however, the assailants were yet to be arrested.
