54 Sierra Leoneans Deported from Guinea
The Sierra Leone Police has confirmed the deportation of 54 nationals from Guinea after their arrest in Dubreka, Kindia region.
Inspector General William Fayia Sellu said the group was detained by Guinean security for loitering without lawful authority and for lacking valid identification.
He added that all deportees were screened and verified at the border before being released to their families.
The move follows heightened security checks by Guinean authorities, amid recent arrests of Sierra Leoneans in Conakry linked to drug trafficking and the smuggling of Kush.
