Comments: This is to inform all Sierra Leoneans that the membership of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) is rapidly increasing. This is a clear manifestation of how Sierra Leoneans all over have become disgruntled with the unprogressive leadership that has put our beloved country into retrogression for decades. Hence, Sierra Leoneans in Philadelphia and its environs in the United States gathered on Sunday, February 26th, 2006 to discuss how they can register with the Orange revolution or PMDC.
Topping the agenda were how to become a member, how to raise-funds for the party, and how to startegize campaign for the party. The meeting was parked with Sierra Leonean enthusiasts who expressed their frustration with regimes that had produced very poor leadership in Sierra Leone for decades. Almost everybody that attended this meeting volunteered to make very special contributions in cash, computers, vehicles, cell phones, food, medicines, and other community development materials and strategies. Interestingly, most of the people who attended this meeting were former members of the SLPP who have deactivated their membership with that party due to frustrations they have endured especially in the past eight years.
What was more unique about this meeting was the fact that tribal dominance wasn’t evident in this meeting and no importance was placed on it all. People from all four regions of Sierra Leone attended the meeting. The discussions hovered around strategies that will get PMDC to win the 2007 elections with the importance of the will of the Sierra Leonean people in mind. The youngest in this meeting was a 20 year old female who loves her country so much. The oldest was a 72 year old male who contemplates a lot about the future of his grand children in Sierra Leone after he passes. The next meeting is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 12th, 2006 at 3:00pm USA time. All Sierra Leoneans shall be posted on this. God Bless PMDC. God Bless Sierra Leone.
