SLPP Grandee Dr Sama Banya Cares More about Partisanship than the Suffering Masses

The majority of suffering Sierra Leoneans do not need more insults from the SLPP party grandee and President Bio’s stooge Dr Sama Banya.
The SLPP party grandee Dr Sama Banya has clearly shown that his donkeys’ years of political experience in Sierra Leone means nothing in terms of patriotism and the sufferings of his compatriots today. His self-centredness and partisanship ideology towards his palm tree is no longer hidden at these trying times under the dictatorship of President Julius Maada Bio. For Dr Sama Banya to praise an automatic leader like President Bio because of his own selfish aggrandisement is deceitful politicking. One common denominator being frequently expounded by diehard SLPP party supporters is the deliberate failure to accept the failings of President Bio’s government. Like most other SLPP members, especially the irrational ones, Dr Sama Banya, a former decorated government minister in the last generation, has done it again unsurprisingly. Dr Banya has ignored the ongoing hardships and human rights abuses and instead lavished praises on President Bio’s government, which is widely considered to be corrupt, violent, and undemocratic.
Dr Banya’s narrative in his latest article clearly shows his ignorance of Leone Stars’ history. And for him to mention trivial issues like Maada Bio’s travels to New York, to Washington DC, meeting with President Trump, etc, and leaving out vital issues like human rights abuses and the massacres at Pademba Prison, in Makeni, Lunsar, Tombo, committed by SLPP State Security personnel, is indicative that the old man has lost his thinking marbles.
The poor old Banya has not only lost his sell pass date, but he has also continued to write garbage in order to satisfy Maada Bio despite plunging the great SLPP party into the dustbin. Dr Sama Banya is expected to stand firm and tell Maada Bio the truth rather than bootlick. He should have been brave enough to educate the Maada Bio’s of this world that the founders of the SLPP party, the oldest party in Sierra Leone, were not tribalistic, nepotistic, violent, and so on as is the case under President Bio. Even before Maada Bio came to power he had divided the SLPP party into factions called Paopa, thereby plunging the real SLPP party into thin air.
The sad emergence of Paopa under President Bio, which inevitably divided the real SLPP party made so many clever politicians defect to form other political parties before the 2018 general elections. The likes of Andrew Kelli, the likes of Dr Dennis Bright, the likes of Dr Kandeh Yumkella left the grand old SLPP to form their own party, the National Grand Coalition NGC. And many others also defected. The real SLPP party was dead and buried. Maada Bio was delighted to mold the SLPP party into the violent Paopa of today. Now, only ardent Paopas can occupy top positions in the ruling government, which is widely considered to be the most hopeless and backward government ever in Sierra Leone’s history. Yet, Dr Sama Banya is blind enough to accept the murky reality on the ground. Even the plights of SLPP supporter Maada Salia Konneh of Kenema who was arrested, beaten, and jailed for merely expressing his views on the bastardisation of the country by President Bio and Fatima Bio did not come to the tiny brain of Dr Sama Banya. This old SLPP grandee even failed to realise the death of civil liberties under President Bio. Michael Mansaray, the APC Youth Leader in Bo is in jail for merely expressing his free speech in Bo. However, the old Sama Banya pretended not to know. This is his shameless piece below that clearly insults the suffering masses:

There once was a brilliant and man of gentle character and disposition but of steel self-discipline who applied for a job for which he was eminently qualified. Present on the interview panel was a man who hated him to a degree of almost exuding bile. He wanted to establish that the man drank and was therefore NOT suitable for the job. He began, “What do you associate with Gordon’s?” The man replied that Gordon was an army General who led a successful British expedition to Sudan. The second question was Haigh. Again came the reply, “he was another famous British General in world war one and who is associated with Poppy day. The chairman of the panel admonished his colleague to let off because the man never named Gordon’s gin, nor Haigh’s whisky. His new question was Booth and the candidate replied that General Booth was the founder of the Salvation Army and not Booth’s gun.
He persisted and said “one more question: What do you associate with VAT 69?” Again the candidate after scratching his head replied, “I’m not sure, but it must be the telephone number of the Pope in the Vatican.” The chairman and the rest gave the job to the candidate. Like our candidate, Bio’s opponents and critics said three years ago that he was not electable; if elected he would never enter the United States of America. O, he would never meet President Trump. He would never be allowed to leave New York etc, etc. It is now history that Bio became SLPP flag bearer, was elected President, went to the United Nations, met President Trump and he and his wife had a photo session with the American President and his wife, visited Washington DC, where he held meetings and flew across America to California.
Now their prayers and negative comments notwithstanding the Leone Stars have qualified for the Africa Cup of nations and in spite of a photograph of the young man then as head of state inspecting a line-up of victorious Leone Star players 25 years ago, they’re out again with all kinds of stories to detract of the joy and ecstasy of the nation. But they will suffocate with frustration and die in their hapless misery. Swallow your bile, learn to acknowledge Bio as President, and appreciate his continuing successes. From the way the country is moving and from their jubilant mood, Maada go be President of Salone tae go.
