The opposition All People’s Congress( APC ) have been cleared by the Freetown High Court presided over by Justice Hannah Bonnie to conduct their National Delegates Convention this weekend.
An injunction by the same judge had seemed to jettison the chances of the APC holding the convention and electing their flagbearer. Full details coming.
Early this morning, Hon. Abdul Kargbo , the interim Secretary General of the APC, confirmed on SLBC Morning Coffee Program that at 9:00 am today the lawyers of the party will be filling a case to vacate the interim injunction.
He added that if it is granted the National Delegate Conference will go on as planned. He went futher to caution supporters to stay calm and be law abiding until the IGTC got back to them.
Hon . Abdul Kargbo, in the program, made the same complaint that his party supporters have been making since the news of the injunction broke out : “It’s four months to elections, no opposition party has gotten a flagbearer yet. The only party with a flag-bearer as we speak is the ruling SLPP, the president. It’s clear that the ruling party doesn’t want a fair electoral contest. ”
