Ernest Koroma’s Agenda: What a Joke!

Sometimes, people are forced to wonder whether Ernest Koroma is serious or he is just a joker.  Ernest Koroma’s agenda for Sierra Leone, which is on his website, is no better than a class monitor’s manifesto.  It bleeds my heart that the APC can shamelessly parade such empty and badly written nonsense, smear it on the World Wide Web, and call it “Ernest Koroma’s Agenda”.  What a shame!  The so-called agenda of Ernest Koroma is nothing but a three hundred and six word nothing.  Quite apart of the “agenda”, Ernest Koroma listed ten priorities backed by pictures taken in the United States trying to depict what he “hallucinatingly” feels he would do if anyone makes the mistake of voting him as president.  Those priorities are at best laughable and at worst pathetic.  They give a vivid picture of the bankruptcy and decrepit nature of the APC party’s acumen to think straight.  The priorities bring out the worst in Ernest Koroma.  The man comes across as unreliable, untrustworthy, untruthful, and down right dishonest.  Let us look at the sorry excuse for what he calls an agenda.
The Agenda

is befitting that he calls that portion of his website agenda.  Let me remind the readers that when someone in Freetown tells you: ar dae gee you agenda, it means he, or she is telling a lie.  A quick look at Mr. Koroma’s agenda shows a bold-faced liar who has very little respect for the truth.  One of the paragraphs of Ernest Koroma’s agenda reads: “Ernest Koroma will speedily restore the reliable delivery of basic public services of electricity, water and sanitation, dangerously absent for more than a decade.  He will restore the dignity of the Sierra Leonean people (presently in comatose state), from young to old.  He will work to restore faith in the joy and benefits of hard work, and deliver a country where the rule of law is adhered to, with consistent and fair application across all segments of society. Koroma will lead Sierra Leone from a SOCIETY OF DEPENDENCY TO A SOCIETY OF SELF-RELIANCE and strong LEARDERSHIP”

Ernest Koroma’s first lie is that basic services have been absent for only ten years.  Such blatant lies would elicit taunts from American teenagers: liar liar pants on fire.  The man is lying through his teeth and he knows it.  The question is should we be surprised?  No, but we need to expose him.  Mr. Koroma has selective amnesia; he needs help and here goes: The APC under Ernest Koroma’s Uncle Joseph Momoh, declared education a privilege, the APC abolished full government scholarships for students and changed it to grants-in-aid, a pittance that left students destitute; the APC destroyed the electricity infrastructure in Freetown.  It was during the APC rule that streetlights became non-existent.  It was during the rule of the APC that water and sanitation began its rapid deterioration.  Mind you all these were either created or maintained by the SLPP before 1968 and Mr. Koroma has the audacity to tell a boldfaced lie that these have just been absent for the past ten years?  Had Mr. Koroma’s Secretary general of the APC, Victor Vouchergate Foh, and his benefactor Joseph Momoh not aided and abetted the AFRC/RUF alliance to overthrow democracy, may be, just maybe we would have been a long way in solving these problems.

During the AFRC/APC/RUF alliance in Sierra Leone, they deliberately destroyed the infrastructure the SLPP had started rebuilding.  Mr. Koroma should look in his house and his family, specifically his brother Thomas Koroma who has been involved in stealing the very cables needed for completing the Bumbuna project.  Who knows, it may just be part of the APC’s grand plan to steal the copper cables meant to bring electricity to Freetown that is why he probably turned the other way while his brother was busy stealing and exporting what was meant for the people of Sierra Leone.  Ernest Koroma should be ashamed of himself.
Ernest the joker wants to restore dignity, the joy and benefits of hard work to Sierra Leone.  This is all good but he is the wrong person for that job.  If Mr. Koroma truly wants to do this, he should have cautioned his brother not to steal the Bumbuna cables because that is very different from dignity of hard work; but wait a minute, stealing is indeed part of the APC mantra of hard work.  Siaka Stevens stole the country’s money, built the UN house on Siaka Stevens Street and then sells it to the government-that is hard work for Ernest Koroma; further, Siaka Stevens stole the country’s money, built Kabasa Lodge, sold it to the government and the APC party turned around and gave it to him as a birthday gift-now that is hard work.  Jamil Sahid Mohammed would connive with the APC, steal the people’s money, monopolize the insurance business, and hires Ernest Koroma as Insurance salesperson and Ernest Koroma calls that hard work.  May be Ernest Koroma needs to tell us why he is scared to say that he may  be the owner of the building on Wellington Street that the decentralization office is using. Instead, he is allegedly using his brother Thomas Koroma who is accused of stealing the Bumbuna cables as a front.  Now that is hard work Mr. Koroma.

On the issue of moving Sierra Leone from dependency to self-reliance, the least said of this the better because Ernest Koroma does not have a clue about what he is talking.  He lacks leadership skills, he could not unite his party for the longest time, he is bankrupt when it comes to policy initiatives and he dares to tell us he is capable of moving us to self-reliance?  This man must be the biggest joker in the election…well second only to Leonis Golley-Morgan.  Some of us are eager to see how Ernest Koroma intends to achieve all his pipe dreams.  In short, his “agenda” is full of what he wants to do and empty on how he is going to do it.  Ernest Koroma is not ready for Prime Time he would be a disaster if elected because the real APC wolves are in the background waiting to tear the Sierra Leonean from limb to limb albeit using their children to whom the APC has dished party symbols.
