The National Secretary General of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party Lansana Dumbuya Esq has today Thursday 22nd June 2023 been released from police custody.
Dumbuya was arrested and detained at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Freetown on Wednesday 21st June 2023 for alleged inciting statements.
According to a report, Dumbuya called on supporters of the APC to take to the street for a peaceful protest after the party alleged that the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone did not address their concerns in relation to the upcoming June 24th, 2023 elections, without the approval of the Sierra Leone Police.
His release was confirmed by the former Attorney General Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara in a tweeter post stating that Dumbuya is in high spirits, hail and hearty, committed to continue serving the APC and the nation at large.
