ACC BOSS ( LEFT) AND AMBASSADOR KAMARA

The ACC wishes to announce to the general public that the African Union Executive Council of Ministers on today’s date of 28th January 2015 elected Mr. Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara to the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption.

It will be recalled that Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma was pleased to nominate Commissioner Kamara to this important Continental Office in November 2014.

The ACC welcomes the results of the election of Commissioner Kamara. Whilst thanking the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, for the confidence reposed and Foreign Minister Dr. Samura M.W. Kamara for proposing his candidature, Commissioner Kamara stated that it is a victory for Sierra Leone, as it signals recognition of our country’s efforts in the fight against corruption.

It should be noted that Commissioner Kamara continues to serve as Commissioner of the ACC. The Commission expresses gratitude and thanks to Amb. Osman Keh-Kamara, staff of the Sierra Leone Embassy in Ethiopia and the Foreign Ministry, for their support in ensuring victory.

Meanwhile, the ACC remains committed to the fight against corruption and as always appreciate the support of the general public in that pursuit.
