During the campaign MR. Ernest Koroma continuously called all ministers in the Kabba administration, corrupt and useless people. After he took the oath of office as president, he begged the same ministers of the Kabba era to work for him, what type of a person will ask people he does not trust and respect to work in his administration? While the ex-ministers continue to serve, Mr. Koroma appointed a transition team, I wish he will tell us the job of his transition team(all members of the transition team are being paid by government).
Mr.Ernest Koroma has been in office for a little over three weeks and till can not appoint his cabinet. This clearly shows that he was not ready for the sensitive position of president of Sierra Leone. I heard that he wants to take Sierra Leoneans from their high level international job and appoint them ministers. I only hope he understands that only registered voters can be appointed ministers. We will also demand that he presents us with their clean pass records for a proper examination. Working for an international institution does not mean that you are corrupt free.
I have been reliably informed by a senior APC official that they are planning another inauguration for president Koroma sometime this year.
Somebody needs to tell me what is the rationale behind inaugurating Mr. Koroma twice at the expense of the nation?
I am sure that very soon all Sierra Leoneans will notice that Mr.Koroma is the wrong person for the most senstive position of president of Sierra Leone.

ALPHA SAIDU,
If you have read President Koroma’s speeches and interviews, he has said that he is a man of accountability and transparency. Given such a credential, he will not allow his soon-to-be-appointed cabinet ministers to take over from the ex-ministers without proper accountability. You know too that the stakeholders and international community who provide funds to keep the nation going demand accountability too. There must be an orderly transfer of power with accountability and transparency the keynote.

Mr. Koroma set up the Transition Team to oversee this transfer of power. They will prepare reports of every ministry and present it to the APC government. The nation will then be informed by the new government about what they met (The social and financial standing of every ministry ) .This will make the nation understand what the APC met so that the mistakes of the past government cannot be attributed to the government taking over. This is my own understanding of the transition process. Also, this will give the government a comprehensive view of the task at hand and where to start. This is transparency and accountability at work.

Members of the Transition Team, we are told by Dr.Lancelot Lake, a member, are not being paid. They are performing a voluntary service for the nation.

You have mixed up the Swearing-in ceremony with the Inauguration. Both are different and separate occasions. One is designed to make the President and his V-P take their oaths of office prior to assuming control .The inauguration is a ceremony that formally inducts the President and his team into office. President Koroma, you can therefore see, has not organized 2 inauguration ceremonies.Your viewpoint is wrong.

Ernest Koroma has shown that he is the right person for the Presidency. He has not come to perpetuate the Free-For-All unaccountable system that has existed in Sierra Leone for ages and destroyed the country. He is stepping carefully and circumspectly to ensure that nothing is unaccounted for. He also wants to form a cabinet that will be beyond reproach.

It is unpatriotic to blindly and sometimes stupidly and unconditionally support the policies of EBK with
reckless abandonment of the expectations of our people. Any dissent is meted by the firing squad of the so-
called blind supporters. What happen to the 100-day progress report the president promise the nation?
Receiving and entertaining diplomats, ethnic groups, former NPRC leaders, buddy-buddy with JB and others
are not clear indications of leadership. Let us go back to the much-hyped “running the country like a
business” hysteria; based on the past 30 days it is past due to completely accept the falsehood of that
assertion.

It is logical, rational and in place to ask the questions: Is the president unprepared? Did he underestimate the
enormous responsibilities of the presidency?

No one, I mean no one, should be afraid or intimidated to ask the tough questions, provide constructive
criticism, or demand for answers. We owe it to EBK and our country. We love the guy, we elected him; he
needs our support by directly and indirectly pointing to his flaws. This guy will learn from his mistakes

Kalos, kindly tell us who is stupidly and unpatriotically supporting the policies of EBK. I hope you are not insinuating that defending the guy from the atrocious attacks by bitter foes like JJ Blood and Sylvia Blyden is “unpatriotic”.
As for a progress report, i think he has already accomplished a lot in less than a month without the ministers that is the focus of obsession for so many:

1) By hiring reputable accounting firms like KPMG to audit all ministries and parastatals, he sets a tone of truth, honesty and accountability in govt and allows the people to see the true state of our nation’s finances. This will serve notice to all incoming ministers and department heads that they will be called to account for their stewardship. This will have a chilling effect on corrupt practices.

2) The vetting of government functionaries by the transition team is a welcome departure from the past when partisans scratch and claw each other in a mad rush for government positions. We are all suffering from the damage those unvetted knaves did in those ministries. The missing millions they absconded with are being pampered in corrupt SLPP accounts right now.
EBK, please take all the time in the world and let those who are dedicated to artificial deadlines chew on the eleven years of misery the Kabba kakistocracy inflicted on the country. Some of us already know you are serious when you said we need and will get 2 MW thermal stations in all the provincial towns and enough megawattage to light up Freetown out of the darkness.

Med, did Kabba have an inauguration? If so did you oppose it?
You are right about Saloneans assuming something is wrong with the present political situation. Our people are smart. They are very suspicious about the hastiness in which SLPP handed over, almost like getting a hot potato off your hands. Already Sylvia Blyden and JJ Blood are spreading propaganda abour how great SLPP was and how their party handed a stable, prosperous democracy to APC!
To avoid all confusion, and to be fair to both SLPP and APC, the president is right to have a thorough accounting of the ministries before his ministers take control. I hope this will become th norm henceforth.

Is he also sending them to overnight GED lessons?
Or is it true that the APC party is having trouble satisfying the power needs of all “them wan them wey put money” ?
He could take all the time investigating ministers, but should at least give the parliament the list of ministers for them to start looking at, start the background checks.
Or is that also not necessary as the APC has the majority anyway.
We spoil our leaders from the get go. We give excuses for their shortcomings.

Kabbas’ handover in principle was sufficient enough; though it allowed the NPRC further ravage our economy with impunity.
You guys should think, who would be handing over again, The APC and SLPP, I assume reached an understanding on the nature and timing of the inauguration. I am not against another inauguration or a more befitting ceremony that would attract national rulers and colleague heads of states as long as the source of funding is made public, but again in politics every negative decision has a boomerang effect. I have also come to realize that most African leaders do not only fail to understand their basic human rights but also do not have a clue on the executive privileges awarded by the constitution. This is why it’s difficult for our leaders to say NO, internally or worse more to foreign policies that have no economic benefit to the nations the represent. Its difficult to say NO than YES in politics, with no you would be obliged to explain, most incompetent leaders choose the easy way out, YES SIR, YES SIR and suffer the people.

Finally, I will urge that the APC concentrate on their homework, time is of the essence and as mentioned earlier I would refuse to accept that the SLPP usurped the APC into the premature inauguration, or any other justification other than a calculated bogus move aimed at further bastardizing our ravaged national revenue.

For example, no body cares if Kabba, Paul Koroma, Bio, Strasser, Momoh or Bamdalay were ever inaugurated, one thing they have in common though is the fact that they all failed to deliver on promise and people would continue to curse even the dead amongst these crooked lot.

Did you read the statement from His Excellency The President regarding the SLPP Ministers?

If no, let me explain to you he did not ask them to work, according to our constitution their mandate finished the day the out-going President handover the staff of power. They can’t sign any legal document and they can’t give out instructions. The President asked them to stayed so that they can prepare their handing over notes in a professional manner.
