Today is another very sad day for me. I woke up early this morning to stunning and unbelievable news that one of my most pleasant colleagues and former college mate, Mr. Ernest O. Cummings, ย passed away this very morning at the Choitrams Hospital in Freetown.
Words cannot describe the enormity of this loss – theย fourth ย in a row after the recent passing away of another college mate, Max Kattaย another boyhood playmate, Edward Ganda and resident of New Jersey Patrick Foyah , all in Sierra Leone.
Life is so cruel and unpredictable. I have been fighting the tears.
What we must learn from all these deaths ย is that life is so short and meaningless and because of this we must strive to be humble, move closer to God and learn to treat one another right. All these deaths should speak to us to be circumspect in this world because tomorrow is not promised anyone. Here today, gone tomorrow.
Ernest Cummings was a perfect gentleman. He was humble, pleasant in spirit and always said things that would upbuild one. You would not hear negative and spirit-dampening stuff issuing out ofย his mouth. He was a gentleman par excellence , ย one of the gentlemen I respected in life for his pleasant disposition and friendliness.
I am lost for words, but God knows best.

He went to Freetown from Canada more than once to Volunteer his Services during the Ebola crisis.
