IMF/World Bank 2018 Spring Meeting On The Way

The 2018 Spring Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) which bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, parliamentarians, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness is underway.
This year’s events will take place in Washington, DC United States of America, April 16-22, 2018.
During the annual Spring Meetings, the joint World Bank-IMF Development Committee and the IMF’s International Monetary and Financial Committee hold meetings to discuss progress on the work of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.

Also featured are seminars, regional briefings and press conferences, focused on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial markets.
At the heart of the gathering are meetings of the IMF’s International Monetary and Financial Committee and the joint Development Committee, which discuss progress on the work of the IMF and the World Bank Group. Sierra Leone’s delegation is led by Mr. Jacob Jusu Saffa, Hon Minister of Finance. Other members of the delegation include the newly appointed Financial Secretary Sahr Lahai Jusu, the Director of Economic Policy and Research at the Ministry of finance, Alimamy Bangura, Director of Budget, Mathew Dingie and Dr. Alie Kabba , a member of the transition committee.
Sierra Leone’s Economic and Financial sectors are also represented.
The plenary session of the IMF and the World Bank Group Boards of Governors is scheduled only during the Annual Meetings in the autumn.
