An investigation by Radio Kintoma has established the hosting of a Guinean flag on the Liberian soil at the Konadu border point in Quardu Gboni district of Lofa County.
The location of the Guinean flag is approximately 20 to 25 minutes walk away from the cornerstone dividing the two countries on the Liberian side.
Our visit saw two uniform Guinean soldiers at a makeshift kitchen recently constricted by the Guinean soldiers.

Rep. Musa Bility Urges President Boakai to Convene National Dialogue on Border Crisis

By Myean D Torgbean

MONROVIA, March 23, 2026 — Nimba County District 7 Representative, Hon. Musa Hassan Bility, has called on President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. to urgently convene a broad national stakeholders’ meeting to address the escalating situation along Liberia’s border.

In a statement released Monday, Bility described the unfolding developments as a serious national concern that goes beyond routine security matters, warning that Liberia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity may be at stake.

“The situation unfolding along our border is serious and demands immediate national attention. This is not a routine matter,” he emphasized.

The lawmaker stressed that the responsibility to lead at such a critical time rests firmly with the President in his capacity as Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Bility urged President Boakai to bring together key actors from across the political spectrum including government officials, opposition leaders, and other national stakeholders for a unified and transparent briefing on the situation.

“The country deserves a clear and transparent understanding of what is happening, and it is imperative that a unified national position is established,” he stated.

Describing the moment as one that transcends politics, Bility called for collective action and sustained communication to ensure that all stakeholders remain informed and engaged.

“This is not a political moment. This is a national moment,” he declared, adding that Liberia must avoid division and complacency in the face of potential threats.

He further called for the establishment of a structured communication mechanism that allows for regular updates, open dialogue, and collaborative decision-making in the national interest.

“On matters of sovereignty and territorial integrity, Liberia must speak with one voice,” Bility said.

The Nimba County lawmaker concluded by urging the President to demonstrate decisive leadership by rallying the nation and coordinating a unified response that reassures citizens and safeguards the country’s interests.

“Liberia must come first,” he asserted.

As tensions along the border continue to draw public attention, Bility’s call is expected to intensify pressure on the government to provide clarity and chart a cohesive national strategy.

Guinea Opposition Leader Cellou Dalein Diallo
Against President Mamady Doumbouya Illegal Occupation in Liberia..
Guinean opposition figures and critics accuse President Mamady Doumbouya of manufacturing border tensions with Liberia and Sierra Leone to create a “survival mechanism” against internal crises, including alleged embezzlement and poor leadership.
Critics claim he acts as a “delinquent” strengthening military rule by staging illegal border incursions, such as lowering foreign flags, to project a “Protector of the Fatherland” image
Key Opposition Concerns and Usage Examples:
Manufacturing Crises: Critics argue Doumbouya creates artificial tensions with neighbors to distract from domestic issues, including economic struggles and the embezzlement of $75 million relating to the Simandou iron ore project.
Border Incursions: Reports allege Guinean troops under Doumbouya have acted as “aggressors” by penetrating neighboring territory, specifically citing instances of taking down the Liberian flag.
Detention of Foreign Staff: Opposition perspectives highlight the detention of security personnel from neighboring nations, describing the behavior as part of a reckless strategy threatening regional peace.
Distraction Tactics: Opponents argue the regime uses troop deployment along border areas as a “pretext” to suppress the local media and eliminate democratic accountability.
Misappropriation of Power: Doumbouya is accused of failing to keep his promises to return to civilian rule, using the military to intimidate both local opposition and neighboring states.
