HEAVILY ARMED POLICE AT SLFA ELECTIONS ? WHEN DID THAT START ?

The Maada Bio – led SLPP regime has tribalized and politicized even once innocent organizations like the Sierra Leone Football Association ( SLFA ), so the association’s elections are do- or- die affairs now . Look at all the intrigues, threats and heavily- armed police today at the SLFA Elections .
Why not ? SLPP Govt. always has its own preferred candidates.
Today, the SLPP’s choice candidate is the government – created millionaire , a bosom buddy of President Maada Bio , Babadi Kamara, who is the only one granted monopoly to destroy our forests and get timber for export. The boy became so rich that he compensated the SLPP Government by building a state- of- the- art stadium at Bo City for one of government’s teams in the SLFA Premier League, Bo Rangers , who have monopolized the competition and are quadruple champions.
The forces at work disqualified the incumbent President Thomas Daddy Brima, the man President Bio imposed many years ago over everybody’s favorite , Rodney Michael, a Sierra Leonean of Lebanese extraction. Brima did a marvelous job but he has fallen out of favour with President Bio, who wants Babadi Kamara on the chair this time.
Former SLFA Presidents like the late S. T. Navo, A. D. Wurie, T. K. Bindi, Edward Akar , Saramady Kabba and others will be turning in their graves in anger at the manner this government has politicized even SLFA and soccer.
The SLPP Government wants to control every institution and organization in the country and it executes a policy of having everyone of them headed by a Bio or SLPP loyalist.
Babadi will however do a great job as he has a proven record of boosting football, going by the tremendous work he did in Bo with Bo Rangers.
What is wrong however is the government interference in sports, which is forbidden by the world soccer controlling body, FIFA .
