In Politics, get your enemy to sing and dance at your party but never you allow him to write the Song Music for you. That is the greatest political error of judgment you can ever make in your life.
When it came to electing the Speaker of Parliament after the 2018 SLPP Presidential Election Victory, APC had their Candidate so as SLPP who were determined to install their choice Candidate for the Job. With an APC Parliamentary Majority, SLPP would have lost the vote if normal process was to be followed. What President Bio did was to introduce chaos and confusion by ordering the expulsion of 15 APC MPs from Parliament after accusing them of election rigging. APC reacted with a walkout protest thereby boycotting the Speakerโs election process. At that point, SLPP seized the opportunity to install their man as Speaker, with no going back.
In our Politics, when legitimacy goes to war with the supreme executive of the land, we know who wins. President Bio appended his executive stamp of approval which no one dared to challenge. That was it, we have the SLPP Speaker of the House though the Dr Chernor Abass Bundu is our Port Loko District Northern brother.
APC should stop complaining about votersโ registration at this close to an election late stage. Go for it with firm will, courage and determination instead of this posturing. It is better to arrive late for your Fatherโs Funeral than to miss it altogether especially if you are the Presiding Imam, Pastor or Reverend. Electing a President is too important an issue to be left to technicality, I mean technical victory for SLPP if APC donโt retrace their steps and stop the foul cry by staying focused.
