It’s thrilling and breathcatching in Qatar : Africa is the future of world football

AFRICA IS THE FUTURE OF WORLD FOOTBALL.

By Kabs Kanu

The Penaldos can keep diving . We in Africa  play it sweet, beautiful, pulsating and magnificent.

Two Liberians even scored for two different countries in this World Cup and look at what Cameroon , Senegal , Morocco and Ghana have played in this world Cup in Qatar. You could not help holding your breath at the blinding action.

All the African teams have played impressive football even when they lost and there are more exciting African countries not even in Qatar , like Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Algeria and Zambia , for instance, that did not qualify . Senegal ‘s most explosive centre forward , Saidu Mane is not even here. Imagine if he had not been injured .

Africa is loaded with talented players and the days when Africa is considered an underdog are gone. Today, some  of the best football in all the leagues in the world and in World Cup football are played by Africans .

The immaculate football played by Cameroon,  Ghana , Senegal, Morocco and Tunisia  testify to the fact that African teams can be  most scintillating on the ball. They do not depend on diving to gain undeserved penalties like some players from other continents. They play it pure and exciting , with flair and creativity and they score masterpiece goals as we have seen in this World Cup.

I hope African governments would give sports the priority the games deserve so that more budding talents in the continent would be harnessed.

Also, whoever saw this World Cup’s fireworks by African teams and would not concede that this is perhaps the most thrilling World Cup since 1970 when Pele set the world alight has not been watching football. And it is not over yet. The first round is not even done yet.

Let us hope that Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia and Morocco make it to the next round so the momentum of sensational football would continue.
