KENYAN FOREIGN MINISTER CALLS ON VP. FOH*

 

The Foreign Affairs Minister of Kenya, Hon. Madam Amina Abdallah today 28th June, 2017 paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Vice President of Sierra Leone, Ambassador Dr. Victor Bockarie Foh at his hotel premises in Nairobi, Kenya.

Madam Amina Abdallah in welcoming VP. Foh to Kenya, stated that her Government looks forward to onward collaboration between the two sister countries of Kenya and Sierra Leone.

 

Hon. Amina Abdallah thanked the Vice President for joining them in co-hosting this High Level Meeting on Data Revolution for Sustainable Development in Africa. She expressed hope that the two days Conference will demonstrate the Political Will of the two Governments in enhancing sustainable development through data collection.

Madam Amina expressed optimism that other African countries will take from this lead and together Africa will be transformed.

In his response, Vice President Foh stated that the Government of President Ernest Bai Koroma places tremendous value on data development for Africa, which is considered a very important step to Africa’s growth. He alluded that there’s so much Africa could gain from data enhancement.

VP. Foh asserted Sierra Leone’s readiness to the forward match of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data. He appealed to other African Sates to treat it with the seriousness it deserves.

VP. Foh prayed that as Kenya goes to the polls in exactly 40 days, they will reap the good side of the democratic coin and that the spirit of Africa will be strengthened.

In a similar engagement, Vice President Foh received in audience, the Executive Director of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data; Madam Claire Melamed.

VP. Foh reiterated Sierra Leone’s willingness to work with her Organisation. He informed her, that the Sierra Leone delegation is in Kenya to give good meaning to this High Level Meeting which opens on Thursday 29th June this year.
