Letter to Sierra Leoneans on the collective frustration of everyone

Dear Sierra Leoneans,

I write to you today with a heavy heart, sharing the collective frustration that many of us feel about our politicians and the state of our nation.

Over the years, both the APC and SLPP have been in power, yet all we seem to see are empty promises and a frustrating sense of retrogression. It is disheartening to see our country’s potential stifled by political maneuvering and self-serving agendas.

The recent decision by the opposition to initially boycott governance processes and then pivot to participation under the condition that all court cases against them be dropped is a stark example of how our politicians often prioritize personal interests over the greater good of the nation.

This flip-flopping not only erodes trust in the political system but also raises questions about their true commitment to the welfare of the people they claim to represent.

Sierra Leone deserves better. We need politicians who are genuinely dedicated to the development and progress of our nation, rather than engaging in endless political wrangling.

We must hold our leaders accountable and demand transparency, accountability, and policies that truly benefit all citizens. It’s time for a new era of governance that places the interests of Sierra Leoneans at the forefront.

Let us come together, as citizens, to insist on a brighter future for our beloved Sierra Leone. We must not settle for empty promises and political self-interest any longer.

The change we seek starts with us, and we must demand a government that truly serves the needs of the people.
