Maada Bio Government accused of horrific human rights abuses during curfew hours as armed security allegedly going door-to-door secretly to arrest and murder youths

Bio Orders His Minister to Slaughter Dozens of Citizens During the Curfew Hours Last Night

By Abu Shaw in London (11/08/2022)

The summary executions carried out on innocent citizens last night during the curfew hours in Sierra Leone by the brutal govt police were horrendous.

The systematic slaughter of dozens of innocent Sierra Leoneans was carried out during the curfew hours last night led by a very bloody government Minister in Freetown. The unlawful curfew was declared by the failed SLPP government in the aftermath of the massive demonstrations against the ongoing barbarism and socio-economic stagnation of the SLPP government of President Julius Maada Bio. Thousands of Sierra Leoneans stormed the streets in Freetown and many provincial towns to vent their anguish and disappointment in the bad governance in Sierra Leone today. The death of democracy, the lack of civil liberties, ongoing arbitrary arrests and detentions, torture and summary executions of critics and peaceful protesters, molestations of women, the lack of press freedom, the state capture of institutions, tribalism, among other vices, were the catalysts that made the protesters protest in the last three days in Sierra Leone.

The demonstrations took a heavy toll on the lives of citizens yesterday which caught the attention of the international community and the world press. During yesterday’s protest, four police officers and 10 protesting youths lost their precious lives during the protests. But more innocent lives were lost during the curfew hours which the government unlawfully declared for ulterior motives. The horror that followed forced the corrupt SLPP regime to declare a curfew order from 3 pm to 7 am. Little did citizens know that President Bio’s government had nefarious plans to kill more people during the curfew. It was ghastly to watch as innocent compatriots were forcefully taken out of their homes and brought outside and shot cold-blooded on the ground in Freetown last night. The scenes during the curfew executions were reminiscent of the bloody civil war that claimed the lives of thousands of Sierra Leoneans in the eleven years of rebel war from 1991 to 2002. Dozens of youths were dragged out of their houses and killed on point blank rank last night as frightened neighbours from nearby homes who peeped through half-opened windows were left in bewilderment after seeing well-armed government police officers emptying live bullets into the armless bodies of the young men and women. May the soul of all those who lost their lives rest in peace and may the perpetrators of this heinous crime be brought to book the soonest. It became clear that the main architect of last night’s systematic killings in Freetown was the Deputy Internal Affairs Minister Lahai Lawrence Leema who is also the National Organising Secretary of the ruling SLPP party. Sources say Minster Leema got the orders from his boss President Bio who was then en route to Freetown from his private holiday visit in London. President Bio instructed Leema to “clean the city”, meaning he should eliminate the protesters by targeting their houses in a systematic fashion to root out any youths they found. In the presence of family members, these youths were taken outside and shot to death. Another police officer, who behaved like the deadly Kamajor rag-tagged killers during the civil, was seen shooting into people’s houses as he ran across the streets. The indiscriminate shooting could have claimed the lives of many people in those houses last night. Up to press time, it could not be ascertained how many citizens lost their lives but sources say dozens were executed by the SLPP thugs.

Eyewitnesses say they saw the violent-oriented Minister Leema in one of the jeeps that were parading the city last night looking out for youths. Eyewitnesses say the SLPP government Minister Leema was wearing a dark suit without a tie. He has a camouflage over his head but it was succinct that he was Leema orchestrating the physical instructions of the executions. Thanks to social media technology, eyewitnesses in the vicinity of the various locations visited by Minister Leema’s killing machines were able to secretly record the killings of dozens of youths last night. Footage of these shootings was caught on videos making the rounds of social media. The executions of these innocent young men and women in front of their houses will definitely amount to crimes against humanity. President Bio and his SLPP administration should be investigated for last night’s executions. The demonstrations were organised by the people of Sierra Leone under the nomenclature Peoples Power in Politics PPP. It was popularised by the country’s most vibrant social media activist called Adebayor who is domiciled in Holland. Yet, the violent-oriented SLPP regime and their blind and unpatriotic supporters continue to blame the main opposition APC party which they vehemently denied. SLPP members and their idiotic surrogates ridiculously described the three days protests as a ‘Coup D Etat. (Photos: A youth who was shot to death yesterday).

Sierra Leone Government Shuts Down Internet Amidst Rising Protest. Sierraloaded reporter Sorie Abubakar – This is coming amidst protests in the east end of Freetown and in several towns across the north of Sierra Leone with police and protesters in running battles. Sierraloaded reports that Protests have so far claimed the lives of at least three people as of press time, in1 addition to many injured. The disruption is likely to limit the free flow of information online and news coverage of incidents on the ground. Sierraloaded reporters in Freetown also confirmed via telephone calls that they are unable to access the internet. One civilian was killed in Kamakwie, Police Station Burnt down and LUC was on the run for his life (a police source has told me). I am just from Youyi Building and everyone is running helter-skelter amidst claims that the building housing the most government ministries may be a target. The events unfolding in Freetown, Sierra Leone’s Capital are sad, unfortunate, and unacceptable, this was not meant to happen, and this should not be happening. I am all for peaceful protests but I and many well-meaning Sierra Leoneans will not support such despicable acts of vandalism and lawlessness even to the extent that lives have been lost.

A poor police officer that was just doing his job was killed in cold blood, what’s wrong with us as a people? Do we want to go back to where we have come from?  If you don’t like a government because you blame them for the current state of affairs go protest in the ballot box, and elections are less than a year from now. Sadly those who enjoy (currently) and have in the past enjoyed the spoils of the state continue to live in luxury and care little or nothing about you who’s killing yourself on the streets.
