Man beaten up in Makeni for recording video of President Bio’s convoy

As President Maada Bio’s convoy passed through Makeni, heading for Koinadugu where his political party has been campaigning recently, a man stood on the sidewalk innocently videotaping it with a view to sharing it on social media. But in today’s Sierra Leone where a brutal dictatorship holds domain under the SLPP rule, even innocent and normal acts have become a crime ;  even to video your president and his convoy now could subject you to merciless beatings by the president’s supporters and security officers.
This is very  outrageous!  Police were caught on camera beating an innocent civilian for simply recording a video of President Bio’s convoy. According to reports, the security officers gave the man a merciless beating, seized his phone and took him into custody.
This is the dangerous state Sierra Leone has reached under the human-rights abusing presidency of former junta leader, Maada Bio, who came to power in 2018 and turned his country into a theatre of horrors for innocent people.
AMNESTY  International and the U.S. State Department Country Reports on Sierra Leone have been highlighting these horrendous abuses by President Bio’s government. Yet, Sierra Leoneans are not free to speak up against these abuses and other crimes being committed by the Maada Bio SLPP Government.
Maada Bio’s supporters are very abrasive, crude, violent , wild and ungovernable, even on social media where they are very abusive verbally to opponents of the government.
