MAADA BIO’S STATE-ORCHESTRATED COUP IS PART OF THE GRAND PLAN TOWARD A ONE-PARTY STATE
………………………………………………….
Against the backdrop of the controversial outcome of the 24th June 2023 elections where Maada Bio was dubiously imposed for a second term as president, the incident that happened on the 26th November 2023 in Sierra Leone has left the public more confused about the security, peace, and the future of the tiny West African nation.
As the government information machinery attempts to provide updates about the actual reasons behind the 26th November incident, citizens equally continue to deliver in real-time uncensored information, news, videos, photos, and audios on various social media platforms for public consumption. These citizens’ media reporting has caused the public to question the credibility of the information provided by government sources and expose their sinister coverups and propaganda.
As the hours go by, it is becoming more apparent that this is a planned strategy by the government to:
- Justify the arrest and summary execution of specific individuals on the target list of President Bio even before assuming office in 2018.
- Orchestrate a prison break aimed at covering up extrajudicial killings of opposition members who are supposed to be released as part of the signed communique between the government of Sierra Leone and the All People’s Congress (APC).
- Stage a “Coup” to institute a long-term state of emergency to suppress freedom of movement, speech, and association.
All these are part of the grand plan to weaken the opposition party, blackmail any formidable political opponents, instill fear, and frustrate Sierra Leoneans so they can give up on active political participation. Maada Bio and his cartel are confident this strategy will allow them to sail smoothly to alter the constitution with the hope of changing the presidential term from five years to seven years and removing the two consecutive term limits so Bio will qualify to run for and retain power endlessly.
Have you asked yourself the following questions:
- If the 26th November incident was an actual Coup, as the government claimed, why did the government forces decide to
Kill Leather Boot after apprehending and immobilizing him? Were leather boot not supposed to serve as a key witness to any ongoing investigation?
Sierra Leonenas must not forget that Leather Boot, Soriba, and so many other ex-police and military personnel who were part of the presidential details from 2007-2018) of former president Ernest Bai Koroma were forced to go into exile in 2018 after they were illegally dismissed from the military or police by the Bio administration. Leather Boot and others only returned to Sierra a few weeks after President Bio’s government announced that travel bans on all persons of travel bans had been lifted. - After the so-called gunmen attacked the armory at Wilberforce barracks, why did they not head straight to the President Lodge, which is about three miles from Wilberforce Barracks?
- If indeed the incident was a coup plot, why, after releasing prisoners from the Pademba Road prison, did the gunmen not use these prisoners to go straight to the state broadcaster, SLBC, which is about two miles from Pademba Road prison, to announce the overthrow of the government?
The government’s inconsistency opens up room for more questions and doubts.
Sierra Leoneans must not expect anything to get better under a Maada Bio administration. Therefore, everyone must brace themselves for the hardship, suffering, and injustices plaguing Sierra Leone.
Remember, “ People who create their own drama deserve their own Karma.”
