Human rights abuses can have significant impacts on public health. Violence and trauma of human rights abuses can contribute to long-term physical and mental health problems among individuals.
Some of the human rights abuses that have been reported regarding the government of President Maada Bio are

2. Political harassment and violence: Opposition members and activists have reportedly faced harassment, threats, and violence, impeding their ability to freely express their political views.
3. Impunity for past human rights abuses: Concerns have been raised regarding the government’s approach to addressing human rights abuses committed during previous administrations, with claims of inadequate investigations and lack of accountability.
4. Restrictions on freedom of assembly: There have been reports of restrictions on peaceful assembly and protests, with organizers and participants facing arrests or harassment by security forces.
