RESPONSE TO AUGUSTINE A.D.TARAWALLY’S OPEN LETTER TO HON.ERNEST KOROMA
BY ALKALI KALLAY MUSA CONTEH
SECRETARY GENERAL/RAPID RESPONSE TEAM
APC WASHINGTON ,DC METRO CHAPTER
Dear Mr.Tarawally,
I write in response to your letter addressed to Hon.Ernest Bai Koroma the firm leader of the APC party and presidential candidate for the August 11 parliamentary and presidential elections in Sierra Leone.
However ,I was able to carefully analyse your letter .And the most salient points I would like to address in the interim include inter alia:
1. Your wrath vis-à-vis Hon. Ernest Koroma’s poor rating of President Kabbah’s 36 page marathon farewell speech delivered to the house of parliament in Sierra Leone.
2.Your neutrality in the politics of Sierra Leone as contained in the first paragraph of your letter.
3. Specific questions you have posed to Hon. Ernest Koroma.
By chronology, if you take a close look at the farewell speech of President Kabbah you will without any iota of doubt come to a sound conclusion that Hon. Ernest Koroma poor rating of the President’s speech is well reasoned. It is equally important for you to know that all “the would be” accomplished projects President Kabbah mentioned in his speech- NASSIT,NACSA,ACC,NRA SABABU PROJECT to name a few are all painted tombs. The international community is quite aware of this fact. As a consequence, donor agencies have for the time being halted all financial transactions with the SLPP regime until the outcome of the August 11 elections. Such an attitude to a government of the day by the international community is a succinct evidence of lack of confidence to that government. Hon. Ernest Koroma has a responsibility as the main opposition Leader in Sierra Leone to properly check any claim made by the SLPP government. That is exactly what Mr. .Koroma pointed out when he responded to president Kabbah’s speech in parliament thereby rating the entire contents of the speech by 3 ½ % .It not out of malice or hatred.
You said you are not a supporter of political party or political figure in Sierra Leone. It is with deep regret to draw your attention to the tenure on the last paragraph of your letter which failed to exonerate from that claim.I quote:
“We will let Pa Kabbah’s anniointed successor the able SOLO B continue to build on the foundation which the old man has left behind”What do make out of the above statement?
For a tentative conclusion, I have to refer you to your letter which you need to read line after line and come up with a decision on your political platform in Sierra Leone. When you have done this assignment, I will be in a better position to proceed further with you in terms of furnishing you with answers to the questions you posed to Hon.Ernest Bai Koroma.
I rest my case until I hear from you again.
