The government’s decision to create new districts—without clear legal backing, public consultation, or economic justification—appears politically driven and constitutionally questionable.
It threatens: • Domestic democratic stability, • Economic sustainability, and • International credibility. Citizens, empowered by the Constitution’s democratic ideals, have the right and responsibility to demand transparency, legality, and the reversal of questionable policies.
The government must urgently prioritise inclusive consultation, legal due process, and fiscal responsibility to restore trust and uphold Sierra Leone’s democratic commitments.
President Koroma was stopped, or advised not to take action until a census is conducted. The 2016 census was conducted and it was proven not necessary. The Bio Regime’s illegal mid-term census did not meet any standards etc. We are not stupid when you gave Kenya as example. Firstly Kenya as abolish mayorship since 2013 but rather a governor who is the head of Nairobi City Council. One head (Governor) for 47 counties which are still under it. Secondly Nairobi is a larger city compare to Freetown with enough revenues collected to pay for all its counties etc. Thirdly it seems your party is trying to make you a Prototype Governor and abandon the Mayorship or reduce it office as weak as possible. London is larger than Freetown, with lots task for the Mayor but was not divided. Now I am asking you if want to become the Governor of Freetown? I am not sure Freetonians will allow it.

All what Bio caretaker government need to do is to support efficiency in the the running of Freetown City Council as well as empowering the council to carry out their tasks. The Bio regime at some point interferes with the running of Freetown City Council including an SLPP administrator challenging the Mayor in 2021 her office. The appointment of the Interior Minister of Freetown in 2020 David Panda Noah, were done to sabotage Freetown City Council for your political end means. The Freetown Interior Minister and his cohorts have carried out the destructive job but will not succeed as he thrashed out his rubbish on a radio interview recently. Mr. Minister why is your regime wasting collected revenues from Sierra Leoneans who hardly can afford one meal a day? Is this not enough what you are putting our nation social fabric to abject poverty? I repeat, the revenue collected by the council is still not enough to perform all tasks by the council because you have elevate poverty for Freetonians. Due to your reckless administration international funds for assisting the council have dried out.
Now you want to create more councils, mayors, councillors, and other employment. So who is going to pay this mess you are trying to create? Your regime can’t pay police well and in time or you equip them with uniforms and other essentials as police have to use their own money if the want to look smart as an officer in uniform. Also various civil servants don’t get paid on time. Your regime is adding poverty on Sierra Leoneans. The West is seeing your administration as a waste bucket for throwing funds.
