On the Head of State’s way to Bo last Saturday , a vehicle in the excessively speeding convoy of President Maada Bio reportedly mowed down and killed three innocent citizens on board a motorbike on the side of the road few miles after Mile 47 ( Masiaka Town ).
This is not the first time President Bio’s convoy has plowed innocent bystanders to death due to its dangerous speed and recklessness.
According to the video below, the incident happened at Masorie junction , miles off Masiaka . The three young men were returning from Maligie Village in the Marampa Masimera Chiefdom where they had gone to fix somebody’s solar electricity solar panel and were heading to their base in Waterloo.
Suddenly, President Bio’s convoy materialized, traveling at breakneck speed and one of the vehicles in the convoy mowed down the three men on a motorcycle, killing two of them instantly, while the third victim died later in the hospital where he was rushed.
The most callous thing , according to eyewitnesses, was that the vehicle that killed the cyclists did not stop and it speed away and up to the time we received the report , no member of the president’s traveling party or government official had contacted grieving family.
Sierra Leoneans on social media condemned the reckless and devil’ may- care attitudes of drivers in President Bio’s convoy, who constitute a constant danger to the public. They also lambasted the President and his government officials for showing no sympathy towards the victims or their families.
