Imagine a party that has clung to power for over six years, yet still struggles to convince the people of its legitimacy. Despite claims of victory in the June 2023 elections, the SLPP has failed to back its assertions with tangible results. Instead, the country watches as a desperate administration fights tooth and nail to maintain control, with no regard for the will of the people.
The Bio-led government came into power with grandiose promises, “Free Quality Education” and “Feed Salone” among them, but these slogans have proven hollow. Six years on, what significant changes have they delivered? Sierra Leoneans are asking: if you failed to fulfill your promises while in power, why not give way to other leaders with fresh ideas and the ability to steer the country toward progress? A good dancer, after all, knows when to leave the stage.
What’s worse is the unholy alliance between the incumbent government and certain members of the opposition. This betrayal, fueled by selfishness and political survival, has undermined the very fabric of democracy. The Bio/PAOPA regime, propped up by sellout politicians, has inflicted untold suffering on the people. Sierra Leone is bleeding, its economy in shambles, its citizens disenfranchised, and its future uncertain.
This level of wickedness is unprecedented, and the damage wrought on the lives of ordinary Sierra Leoneans is heartbreaking. How much longer must the people endure this nightmare? Sierra Leone deserves leaders who prioritize the well-being of the nation over personal gain. It’s time to demand accountability, reject complacency, and restore hope for a better future.
