The Spirit Of God Is Moving In New Jersey And Lives Are Being Blessed As New Church Gains Foothold

By Solomon Sesay of the New Daily Nation :

JESUS CHRIST commands his disciples in Matthew  28:18-20  : “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. ” It was this charge known as the Great Commission that the combined husband and wife team of the Rev. Leeroy Wilfred Kabs-Kanu and Rev. Tigidankay Kabs-Kanu obeyed on Sunday January 15, 2012 when they launched the new church in Somerset, New Jersey called the Covenant Child World Evangelistic Ministry.

Since this church started holding regular worship services at the Caribbean Palace Hall at Hamilton Street in Franklin Township, Somerset, there has been more movement  of the Spirit of God in New Jersey and lives are being touched as the new church gains foothold. I visited the church during the past two Sundays and what I saw was very moving and spiritually edifying. I met a growing congregation engaged in prayer, worship and teaching that provides hope that God has provided another church that will  be a  big blessing to many christians in the state.

The church has a powerful worship team led by Nigerian Praise and Worship Leader, Sister Augustina Taylor . Most christians say one of the things that attract them to a church, apart from its doctrines and how the Word of God is preached , is the praise and worship, “which normally ushers the congregation into the mood for worshipping , praying and getting attuned to the  movement of the Spirit of God” , according to the Rev. Leeroy Wilfred Kabs-Kanu. The Rev. told me that since they started their ministry, people have been commending  the Praise and Worship team as Sister Augustina is well anointed by the Lord for the job.

The church starts with teaching and exortation conducted by the Reverend himself . After this, it is  praise and worship which places everybody in the spiritual mode to receive the word of God preached by the Rev, Tigidankay Kabs-Kanu, who is an articuate and  anointed preacher .

Mrs . Kabs-Kanu, who is the  Director of Nursing at a medical facility in New Jersey,  was born into a  devout  muslim family–The   Gardrie family of Fourah Bay , Freetown and her father is an Alhaji and muslim scholar who has been to Mecca –but she received the call of Christ  in her life in Liberia after which she went all over the streets preaching and teaching the Word of God to eager Liberians and other nationalities. She and her husband attended Bible school in Liberia and she additionally attended  the Assemblies of God Bible School  in  Bo, while waiting to come to the U.S  after the war in Liberia brought her and family in Sierra Leone.

The humble preacher gave all the glory to God without whom, she told the congregation , no christian can do anything. Amidst a chorus of “Amens” and “Alleluias”, She said that God is wonderful and very faithful to his promise. She said that God it is who provides the strength , power, ability and the anointing to preachers to deliver his word. She said the the best thing that anybody can do for him/herself is to know God  and to serve him  and stay grounded in him. Her sermons are full of praise for the goodness of God and his faithfulness to his word. She tells her congrgation that God is willing to save them from damnation and his hands are always open to receive them. She says that salvation is by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ .
