After winning the opposition All People’s Congress ( APC) Flagbearer election in an epic National Delegates Convention in Makeni last weekend, APC Presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Kamara will make a triumphant entry into the capital of Freetown today—and stalwarts have posted passionate appeals on social media for thousands of supporters to turn up in their traditional red to welcome their hero and the likely future President of Sierra Leone.
Dr. Samura Kamara painted Makeni red in a victory ride through the Northern city on Monday and is expected to do the same to Freetown today.

Freetown Painted Red & Ready as Samura & New Elected APC Officials Depart Makeni with Love

The capital Freetown will welcome the newly elected APC executives today including the man of the moment Dr Samura Kamara from Makeni with love.
The APC executives will storm Freetown to say thank you to everyone who made the APC party a success today. Thousands of supporters and members of the main opposition All People’s Congress APC party are expected to join the long convoy from Makeni City in northern Sierra Leone which is slated to snake all the way to the capital Freetown. Dr Samura Kamara will be among the new APC national executive officials elected by the APC delegates in the recently concluded APC National Delegate Convention NDC in Makeni. They are expected to arrive in Freetown where the long convoy would berth at the APC party headquarters at the Old Railway Line office. (Photo: Dr Samura Kamara).
APC Grassroots supporters and members are gearing up for the historic event to accompany their new National Executives including the APC Presidential flag-bearer Dr Samura Kamara for June 24, 2023, general and presidential elections. The people’s choice Dr Samura Kamara elected overwhelmingly at the NDC conference in Makeni over the weekend will lead the long convoy from Makeni to Freetown amid tight security. Dr Samura Kamara got nearly 85% (1,385 votes) of the votes cast while his second-placed Dr Richard Konteh netted only 88 votes. Seventeen candidates for the flag-bearer contest including Dr Samura Kamara vied and in the final analysis, it was Dr Samura Kamara who called on his colleagues to unite behind the APC party for the good of Sierra Leone.
And from the look of things, the olive branch sent by Dr Samura Kamara has paid dividends big time. The other leading APC contenders Dr Richard Konteh, Mr Alimamy Petito Koroma, Mr Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay, and others have all congratulated Dr Samura Kamara. That is great news for the peace and unity of the APC party. And it is surely bad news for the failed SLPP government of President Julius Maada Bio whose corrupt regime had fought hard over the years to dismantle the APC party and destroy it beyond redemption without success. The droves of congratulatory messages from such high-profile APC politicians are indicative of the giant steps being taken by the party to unite and strengthen its resolve to vote out President Bio in come June 24, 2023 elections.
Meanwhile, the APC party celebrating the successful conduction of the National Delegate Convention goes on. Confirming the departure of the APC executives from Makeni today, the APC Chairman East of Freetown Mr Mohamed Kamara aka Med Kay, said it is true that the newly elected APC executives will storm Freetown today from Makeni City. Med Kay first thanked the security apparatus for securing the NDC conference and then thanked everyone for making the NDC a success. Med Kay also congratulated all the winners and losers who peacefully participated in the NDC elections. Med Kay also disclosed that the new executives are coming to the Freetown APC Headquarters to say thank you to everyone who made the APC a success.

Dr Samura Kamara, a seasoned technocrat and politician with a stainless and nice perfume character, served as Sierra Leone’s bank governor, minister of finance, and minister of foreign affairs during previous regimes. He now uses his crowd-pulling ability to crucify and cripple the ungrateful SLPP in the country’s upcoming June presidential elections. DR Samura Kamara after purportedly losing the 2018 pivotal and paradoxical elections maintained on the floor with a strong grassroots romanticism and daily installation of hopes and courage to followers who were bitter and dejected for his 2018 misfortune. His efforts didn’t end in failure; rather, they catapulted him to the top of the APC flag bearer campaign with remarkable dividends of understanding and sympathy. His nationwide post-party election victory celebrations have caused the SLPP to fear and have put change-seekers everywhere in high gear to deduct Bio and company from the June votes.
