What is President Bio doing about 2024 Gallup Report that Sierra Leoneans are the 4th unhappiest people in the world ?

Sierra Leone is making all the world headlines for the wrong reasons. The latest is that Sierra Leoneans are the 4th unhappiest people in the world, according to the Gallup World Happiness Report for 2024.

Our question at COCORIOKO is what is President.Maada Bio doing about it ?

We ask this question because the sing-song in the Bio government is that he has been making marvelous strides in human capital development in Sierra Leone . This noise of the government’s progress in developing human Capital is not being borne out by results determined by the latest UN Human Development Index and this 2024 Gallup World Happiness Report . From these two reports, it is clear that Sierra Leone has rather regressed in human capital development, under President Bio.

So, what is Ptesident Bio doing about it ? What structures are being put in place to transform the fortunes of the Sierra Leonean people ?

Whenever such results come out, it is very distressing and troubling. The government is making so much noise about development and spending so many millions of dollars on international media to project Bio’s so- called national development in Sierra Leone but the people are seeing no results. Their living conditions continue to plumet .

When elections designed to bring meaningful change to the country comes up, the SLPP Bio government steals it. So, how would things ever change in Sierra Leone ?

This report is a shame. One hopes that Maada Bio does not push it under the carpet.
