President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma in a broadcast to the nation this morning (Saturday 17th October) said that victory is within reach in the fight against the Ebola virus disease. He made this statement against the backdrop that today marks Day 21 of the National countdown towards 42 days, which he described as a significant milestone in the fight against the horrific virus.
Immediately following his national broadcast, the president has embarked on the last mile of his social mobilization drive for community ownership and involvement in the fight to kick Ebola out of every corner of Sierra Leone. He will cover Kambia and Port Loko districts in this leg of his social mobilization campaign and move to other parts of the country.
As I type this short update, President Koroma and entourage arrived safely in Kambia district this morning to continue to urge communities to do the right things in order to protect everyone from the disease.
