The General public is hereby informed that His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma departed Freetown this evening for the Federal Republic of Nigeria to attend the 50th Session of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Heads of State Summit.
President Koroma will join his colleague Heads of State and Government in Abuja to discuss, among other issues, recent ECOWAS’ mediation intervention efforts for an amicable resolution of the political impasse in The Gambia, as well as progress on ongoing mediation efforts into the political crisis in Guinea Bissau.
His Excellency the President and his entourage are expected in Freetown Sunday, December 18, 2016.
